Meh, as a very young man Alvarez was hit with good shots and came out firing - hardly an indication one way or another of how the fight will go.
I think this fight will go ahead but if it doesn't I think Golden Boy will be at fault not Canelo. When he says he will put on the gloves and fight right now I believe that he means it.
It isn't as simplistic a GGG win as people seem to think. Alvarez has yet to come unstuck in a firefight.

I agree that Canelo wants the fight. He doesn't seem the type to shy away. As you say, if it doesn't go ahead it'll be down to Golden Boy but it'll still make Canelo look bad if it doesn't happen. As far as the outcome of the fight, I think it would be a gutsy effort from Canelo and he'll have the odd success but eventually he'll wilt under GGGs accurate attacks. Let's hope it happens

Sanchez is a grass, always spouting how GGG dominated this guy or that guy 'in sparring'.

They brought Canelo in as a smaller, faster guy to practice with - now suddenly it's become Rocky vs Apollo settling their differences behind closed doors.

I like GGG, have championed him since he turned pro with universum, but he's really got to fight someone now and his shitty team need to pull their finger out and get some cash on the table to lure the big names in. But instead they talk rot about Gennady fighting anyone at 154 to 168 , but making zero effort to get the bouts.

I don't blame GGG, I blame his team. All GGG has ever really said is that he wants to unify and that's what he should stick to.

Some good points. If GGG gets the Canelo fight and manages to get the win then Jacobs or Saunders would be good fights to take then whoever is 168 champion. I keep forgetting he's 34.

I will second most of that, but the longer his career drags on the more the blame scale has to start tipping towards him and not just his team. Golovkin is gunning for Alvarez (a fight i'd love to see) he is even calling him out now, but lets face it, as big as he is and even with a 160 belt, he's not a true middleweight yet. GGG even said he would go to 154 for Mayweather. Why not call out DeGale, Jack, or even Ward who i believe he avoided. He could have tried more to force a fight with Froch but never did.

GGG has to start taking more of the blame, he does not have to call out names, but he should have the clout to force his hand behind the scenes. He's 34 now, the ticking of the clock dont stop for nobody, time on his career is running out fast.

In terms of finances and profile building an Alvarez fight would be far bigger than fights with Degale, Jack, or Ward, and a win would make him the lineal MW champ (lineal titles don't mean much to me but they still do to many people).

Hopefully GGG stands firm and doesn't accept any step aside nonsense this time.

I think this fight comes down to one criteria. Can Alvarez chin stand up to the Golovkin power shots? If it can will the judges stuff GGG? That's two criteria then
