My memory of that fight is Valuev pawing his jab out repeatedly with the odd one-two, and a bemused look on his face as David Haye is nowhere near where his fist ends up as he's got out of the way.

Awful fight but the right winner IMO.
Daddy was from start till end continually near the corners and when approached running away like a chicken. Yes he managed to hit Valuev in the latest round, but that's really it.
You really are clueless.

Haye boxed Valuev's ears off, Nikolai barely landed a jab all night. Haye only landed one big shot, in the last round, but he landed a lot more punches throughout the fight.

Did you expect him to sit in the pocket and trade with a man a foot taller and 7st heavier than him?
And you must be blind as a bat, son.

Haye did nothing for 11 rds, except run a marathon around the ring.

It was a clear-as-day corrupt decision: the belt changing hands to the new up-and-coming British HW cash cow.

Murray got screwed against Martinez in Argentina imo.
Half of the fights judged by Adelaide Byrd
RIDICULOUS... TONEY LANDED 150 MORE PUNCHES AND NEARLY KNOCKED JIROV OUT... It was a UNANIMOUS decision by a WIDE margin... Harold Lederman may have been the worst judge in History... He tends to influence the HBO crew... This time they disagreed.
Actually, now that I think about, it wasn't that I thought Jirov won, I thought the point margin was way out of whack. That was a close fight. I don't believe Toney landed 150 punches more than him, Jirov was nonstop that fight.

Jirov was nonstop but throwing almost exclusively armpunches and not very accurate or clean with them, either.

Worst scorecard of the year.

I thought Del-Boy won 2 rounds tops.

Loved how when Chisora put his hands up on the final bell Pulev burst out laughing.

Yeah that was funny. Seriously though a judge having Chisora actually winning that fight should have his bank records published.

Utter BS. It was an awful fight and Haye was pretty poor, I grant you, but he won that fight.

Pacquiao -vs- Bradley (Pacman was robbed, everyone knows it, but the decision stands)

Gabriel Campillo, hard-luck fighter, against Shumenov and against Cloud.
De La Hoya v Shane Mosley II was the biggest robbery I've seen. Mosley won the 9th round and nothing else. He literally threw nothing in any of the rounds, yet he was still awarded the fight.

Marvin Hagler v Ray Leonard was the first robbery I witnessed. It's still in my top 2.

Castillo stopped him, only with the referees incompetence was he able to continue. It's tough for many to swallow due to the miraculous comeback, but that took place after two 20 or 30 counts when he couldn't stand up. Made even more ironic by Boxing fans all over forums calling Freitas a bitch for spitting out his mouthpiece against Chico. Much like Corrales condemnation of JLC for missing weight right before he did it himself.
I agree.
While it's certainly one of the better fights I've ever seen and is the fight I typically show people who aren't boxing fans, it's a fight where the Ref played entirely too much into the result.
From the super long counts including the ridiculous mouthpiece tolerance, to the immediate stoppage out of "concern" for the health of JLC the first time his head got hung. (DC got KOd at least once-likely twice even, while JLC, even though debatable, was KOd not at all.)

DC got every conceivable chance to continue and then some, while JLC got none.
:OhYes:

Still an atg fight in my opinion, and one of my favs, but the ref is the reason why.
With any competence and/or non bias on the ref's part, this fight was simply a fantastic phonebooth fight with a KO ending, much the same as many thousands before.

He won if it would have been a track race, son.
Haye didn't want to fight that night, period.
He pulled the same BS with Wlad, but he didn't have the judges in his pocket on that occasion.

If it worked once, why not try it again, he must have thought.

hmm Burns v Beltran is the first one that comes to mind. How Ricky got the draw is completely beyond me. Sturm v Murray is a good shout too but probably isn't that bad in the overall scheme of things

One that stung for me was Beyer-Lucas, though it wasn't the most egregious.

Roy Jones Jr. getting DQ'd against Griffin. Yes Griffin had a game plan, but I've seen worse in the boxing ring. DQ was too much. If it wasn't for that, RJJ would have gone 50-0 before losing to Tarver.

No fights spring to mind atm...

However, worst card I can remember seeing was CJ Ross' draw for Canelo/Mayweather.

Still think the worst robbery I've ever seen was Joel Casamayor vs. Jose Armando Santa Cruz. It was on the Cotto/Mosely undercard. Casamayor got knocked down in the first round and won maybe 2 rounds, and was still handed the win. Absolutely mind-boggling.
