Re: Kell Brook Vs. Lamont Peterson
they need there own route and stop stalking khan
Re: Kell Brook Vs. Lamont Peterson
Needs to keep stalking khan. Its a fight people are wanting to see.
The only reason people complained about khans mayweather stalking was because it was a bit of a mismatch. Khans been derailed against much lesser opponents.
At least with brook v khan its viewed as a 50/50 fight. The moneys there for it.

Re: Kell Brook Vs. Lamont Peterson
Pathetic. I hope khan leads them down the path of promising the fight then says no. Brook is not and never will be a ppv fighter!
Re: Kell Brook Vs. Lamont Peterson
I read Rafael tweeting that Hearn offered triple to Vargas compared to his highest purse to date, but Vargas doesn't want the fight.
So I'm sure they are doing their best to land someone, anyone, that is recognised as a name in America.
Seems a few are scared of taking on Brook if you ask me.
Only Thurman seems keen on it, but he's got to get past Shawn Porter next whom will be a tricky style for him to overcome and no certainty.

he could well be being blackballed by Al Haymon - till he signs with him... that's what I would do if I was Hayman
not sure who he has signed in WW
not sure who he has signed in WW
Re: Kell Brook Vs. Lamont Peterson
I really like Thurman. He's one of my favourite over seas fighters. Has a job on his hands with Porter though. Very difficult to look good against. He'll have taken heart from Broner stunning him in the twelfth round of their fight though. Brook wobbled him once as well but failed to capitalise. Fingers crossed Thurman gets through then takes the Brook fight. Them over here would be a fight I'd do my best to get to!G0mez wrote:I read Rafael tweeting that Hearn offered triple to Vargas compared to his highest purse to date, but Vargas doesn't want the fight.

We've been saying this for a while now,but each new opponent stinks, what a wasted career so far.
Re: Kell Brook Vs. Lamont Peterson
I think this a good fight if it happens.... Peterson beat Garcia for me.
Re: Kell Brook Vs. Lamont Peterson
Khan has already said he won't fight him (because he doesn't like him). Fighting one of the men who beat Khan can hardly be described as pathetic.ThereByTheGrace wrote:Pathetic. I hope khan leads them down the path of promising the fight then says no. Brook is not and never will be a ppv fighter!

Re: Kell Brook Vs. Lamont Peterson
Yes it can, there are so many other decent challengers that brook could fight, his career since winning the ibf title has been pathetic for a so called champion. Porter has fought broner and Thurman is next at least he is willing to fight decent names unlike brookBigDoofus wrote:Khan has already said he won't fight him (because he doesn't like him). Just read on BS about the huge offer to Vargas. Fast Eddie also slipped Guerrero in there.lefty wrote:The Berto one is even more hilarious coming off his devastating win over a washed up ortizCounter-puncher wrote:Nicely observedElJefe wrote:The Peterson fight would be classic Hearn. He'll name a few genuinely world class fighters as a possible opponent (Thurman, Garcia, Bradley), then next time he'll drop in the name of someone just below that level (Peterson, Berto). Each time he gets asked the question, the weaker opponent will creep nearer the top of the list. Subtle little trick he does to plant the seed that the eventual opponent is actually at the level of the big names that he mentions to begin with.

If true that means Vargas has been offered around £1,250,000G0mez wrote:I read Rafael tweeting that Hearn offered triple to Vargas compared to his highest purse to date, but Vargas doesn't want the fight.

(Best purse v Bradley $600,000 x 3 converted to £)

Great point.sweetscience wrote:he could well be being blackballed by Al Haymon - till he signs with him... that's what I would do if I was Hayman

And good question, how many of the top welters are with Haymon.
It'd reduce Brook's prospects somewhat. And Hearn commented how "fucked up" boxing in America is, due to Haymon having too many fighters, looking after himself by blurring that line between managing and promoting.
Re: Kell Brook Vs. Lamont Peterson
Well Spence, if he wins the elim, will be the next mandatory I believe...bigjack wrote:SNG wrote:Providing he goes somewhere good next I'd be happy with a Peterson fight. He's fought at the top level, and he'd come to win.

So everyone should be happier soon.

It's just he's now been a pro for 12 years and it still feels like his career hasn't properly taken off. He's maybe only got a few years left so it really is becoming now or never.Horse wrote:Kell Brook is a buster. This is about as good as we can expect from him.
Still a step in the right direction, as pathetic as that is.
Yeah he desperately needs to step it up going to waste all that talent get him in with the best! 12 years is a long time.

Re: Kell Brook Vs. Lamont Peterson
Brook's becoming laughable.
Why would a beltholder at 147 who claims he wants to unify the division wanna fight a non champion who's really a light welter ?
When Spence is mandatory we'll finally get a real insight into Brook - will he fight him or will he avoid him ?
It would be interesting to see a BoxRec poll on this

Re: Kell Brook Vs. Lamont Peterson
Brook should just retire. Waster.
Re: Kell Brook Vs. Lamont Peterson
Obviously Haymon likes to sign a lot of fighters and just have them face each other. Of the Haymonfighters I believe Porter would push for aBrook rematch, however. So maybe a lot hinges on Thurman Porter. If Porter can pull it off, perhaps Brook goes to America again for Porter. Would Porter come over here? Would Brook just sit on the Porter win, with Porter's subsequent successes making Kell look good?
Anyway it's easy to be cynical about Brook. Just as it was with Calzaghe, the godfather of all frustrating top level British careers. It was easy to call him "a joke" but he still unified decisively - when it suited him.

Hearn claims he's made huge offers for Broner and Vargas.
Given that Porter is fighting Thurman - Cotto, Bradley, Spence and Khan all don't want the fight and Garcia is hanging on for Floyd - who would you be happy with?

Where did you see the tweet about cargos not wanting it? I saw a tweet about being offered 3 times the money but I couldn't see anything about vargas actually having turned it down yet.G0mez wrote:I read Rafael tweeting that Hearn offered triple to Vargas compared to his highest purse to date, but Vargas doesn't want the fight.

Good result though and shows Kell can do it.
I had reservations that he could win under pressure, at the time.
Anyway, patience, everyone!
