Re: Povetkin tests Positive for illegal substance
I've heard 17% of the Russian athletes got caught for this, I've no idea what it is, but the Russians seem to love it.
Maria Sharapova used it for over 10 years she said, whatever it is it's illegal since this year.
I've also heard that this stuff is untraceble after just a few days, so why Povetkin uses it while the match is still so far away, knowing he was going to be tested by Vada is just guesswork for me.
I feel strongly disappointed in him somehow, I never expected him to be a cheater, but I guess I have to wake up on that point...

Wilder Thinks Alexander Povetkin is 'juicing' Tweet
Quitano @quitano Sat, May 30 2015
“I think he’s juicing. He’s looking too big,” Wilder (33-0, 32 KOs) said. “I have people that have trained him and know him, and being from a different country, they have different techniques that they use." - Wilder told USA TODAY Sports in a telephone interview. Wilder offered no proof “He’s on some kind of steroids. But you know, that’s just my opinion." Wilder, who will likely face Povetkin if he defeats Eric Molina in his first title defense on Jun 13th said that he wants full drug testing if he fights Povetkin.
I guess Wilder was right after all with his assumption. Maybe that was originally why Povetkin wanted 6 months to "train" before fighting Wilder? Like Victor Conte once said, it is more of an IQ test than a drug test, and to fail it you have to be pretty stupid.

I am laughing my ass off right now. Yeah, Povetkin, never in shape for 90% of his career, as a chubby 20-30yr old, suddenly begins to 'train seriously' & looks like Hulk at 37. He's flicking his finger & BOOOM! I've been saying it for the last two years, he's on something.asdfjkl wrote:I feel strongly disappointed in him somehow, I never expected him to be a cheater, but I guess I have to wake up on that point...

Russian news agency TASS confirms that a low concentration of meldonium was found in Povetkin's blood:

Ryabinsky claims that Povetkin didn't take meldonium after January 1st when it was banned. WBC is "collecting information" to make a decision.

The problem is: if all are caught, there would be nobody to watch.SFW wrote:Another cheat caught, good

Re: Povetkin tests Positive for illegal substance
using meldonium in 2015 was ok, in 2016 is bad, wonder what does Wilder use, maybe something what will be illegal in 2017.
let's be honest, almost every top boxer is unclean and that makes me very disappointed cuz i really love boxing![[icon_e_sad.gif] :verysad:](./images/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif)

Russian cows are notorious for having high levels of meldonium.
Re: Povetkin tests Positive for illegal substance
Terrible news.
I'm sure Wilder haters will figure out how to blame this on him.

Re: Povetkin tests Positive for illegal substance
I was one of the ones that said for ages he was clearly on something. Since the Klitschko fight in particular- his muscle mass had increased (his traps in particular were huge), his body fat % had dropped and IMO he was definietly hitting harder aswell. This all in a period of being a fighter in his mid to late 30's.
Re: Povetkin tests Positive for illegal substance
Why was he taking it anyway? I thought it was supposed to be for people with cardiac conditions? I'm guessing Povetkin, Sharapova, etc, all are afflicted with the same condition.ikorolev wrote:Russian news agency TASS confirms that a low concentration of meldonium was found in Povetkin's blood:

I'm beginning to get sick of this. Damn !
I don't know whats getting more annoying: These PED busts or these politically incorrect busts see: Tyson Fury.
Either let everyone say and take whatever they want or have a zero tolerance policy. I'm just getting sick of it.

Re: Povetkin tests Positive for illegal substance
Wilder was protected & ducked everyone, fought bums since his title win in early 2015. He should've fought Povetkin back in late 2015, when Meldonium wasn't banned. F*cking bum. Can now continue to fight other bums.Tanzio wrote:Terrible news.

Re: Povetkin tests Positive for illegal substance
Yeah it gets annoying. In the case of Fury and his comments there's nothing anybody can do about it except root against him or whatever. Tyson Fury's a douche though him saying stupid things is just the norm for him so I didn't care what he said. Tyson Fury couldn't do much to lower my opinion of him any further.Tony1244 wrote:I'm beginning to get sick of this. Damn !

Re: Povetkin tests Positive for illegal substance
Nearly every top athlete is on drugs nowadays - whether they need it or they think, they would suffer, if they would not use it.
