Which boxer put the most power into 1 punch?
Which boxer put the most power into 1 punch?
p4p
note: why i have mike in it and not foreman. it is p4p, mike was a 5'10 midget, considered how small he was and his low weight for a heavyweight, yet still he had power equaly to guys like lewis or klitschkos is just super impressiv. imagine tyson with the size and weight of klitschkos, but with the same muscles/athletiscm tyson had back in the late 80's, he would punch like a gorilla.

Of that list, I think it's Jackson, then Hearns.

Why is Paulie Malignaggi not on the list?

Gerald McClellan had a ton of single punch knockouts
Whether it was overhand right or left to the body. He wasn't wearing guys down, he was putting them away with single shots

Just curious, why do you think Hearns is obvious over Jackson?SaadOffTheDeck wrote:P4p is obviously hearns.

Good question...and I don't like the way these guys start duplicating threads or vanity threads. Boxing forums should be moderated to keep things tighter.

Re: Which boxer put the most power into 1 punch?
How is Arthur Abraham on this list and Stanley Ketchel isn't?
Re: Which boxer put the most power into 1 punch?
I think heavyweights probably hit harder p4p. In the sense that a heavyweight might be 50% heavier than a middleweight but probably hit over 100% harder.
But in a general sense j jackson is generally acknowledged as among the biggest hitters ever for his division(s).

He took everything that Jackson threw, which is pretty impressive and Jackson couldn't take them off him. Actually I am going to watch this fight again tonight.

Re: Which boxer put the most power into 1 punch?
Look at who the OP is... Abraham on all time hardest hitters list is a joke.Boxing Writer wrote:How is Arthur Abraham on this list and Stanley Ketchel isn't?
Re: Which boxer put the most power into 1 punch?
Anthony Joshua... He's 6'6" X 245 and extremely athletic.. He's a gym rat who works out many hours a day and does a full strength training routine.. Obviously Heavyweights put the most power into one shot because they're the biggest fighters on the planet and a Heavyweight's resistance is a lot greater than a Middleweight's resistance.. AJ has the highest KO ratio of any Heavyweight Champion in History.
The P4P hardest puncher ever has to be Gennady Golovkin.. Nobuhiro Ishida had never been knocked out by anyone - but a single shot from Golovkin sent him to Intensive Care.. Other great 1-punch KO's by GGG are Matthew Macklin... Grzegorz Proksa who had 1 previous loss and had never been stopped... Dominic Wade and Marco Rubio were tough chinned Middleweights who went out from seemingly effortless punches.. But the threat of getting completely iced may have kept them from regaining their feet.. Triple-G has the highest KO ratio of any Middleweight Champion in History.

Re: Which boxer put the most power into 1 punch?
I never saw Jackson flatten Light Heavyweights and Cruiserweights and I never saw him dispose of iron chinned guys like Cuevas and Duran. Granted, Hearns was much more skilled to land his bombs. Higher weight classes, higher caliber opponents and same destruction makes it pretty clear to me. And Hearns being my favorite fighter has nothing to do with it.crusader wrote:Just curious, why do you think Hearns is obvious over Jackson?SaadOffTheDeck wrote:P4p is obviously hearns.

Re: Which boxer put the most power into 1 punch?
Tommy Hearns hit Marvin Hagler and Iran Barkley with his best shots -- and did NOTHING to them... Then they knocked Tommy stiff. James Toney beat Iran Barkley from pillar to post and knocked him out... Nigel Benn knocked Barkely out quickly so they musta punched harder than Tommy.SaadOffTheDeck wrote: I never saw Jackson flatten Light Heavyweights and Cruiserweights and I never saw him dispose of iron chinned guys
Then you have the fact Tommy Hearns tattooed Virgil Hill for 15 rounds without knocking him down or out... But Roy Jones blasted Virgil Hill out with one dynamite shot to the body. There was a big difference in the oomph on Roy's strapping body shots compared to Tommy's weak offerings at that particular weight.
Re: Which boxer put the most power into 1 punch?
I'll tell you who can hit... Artur Beterbiev... He's had 9 fights and already crushed 2 Light Heavyweight Champions - plus everyone else he's faced.

The only power thing about AJ that you can tell us about (having experienced many times) is the power in his pelvic thrust.Kalan wrote:Foxdog why don't you get lost pea brain.. What sow shat you into the world?

Re: Which boxer put the most power into 1 punch?
Yes, but it is just not fair to mention Hagler there. He was not only never down (obviously, I do not count the slip against Roldan) and never hurt... it was really rare when you have impression he noticed any punch.Kalan wrote:Tommy Hearns hit Marvin Hagler and Iran Barkley with his best shots -- and did NOTHING to them...SaadOffTheDeck wrote: I never saw Jackson flatten Light Heavyweights and Cruiserweights and I never saw him dispose of iron chinned guys
Re: Which boxer put the most power into 1 punch?
I count Roldan. And he noticed a lot that Mugabi, Leonard, and even Duran put on him as well.. Obviously he noticed a few of Tommy's who I didn't say was a SOFT hitter.. but that's why I mentioned Barkley.. Blade got knocked out a few times and Hearns couldn't move him.gregor wrote: Yes, but it is just not fair to mention Hagler there. Thats some achievement in a 12 round fight.
No wonder Tommy won.
