Lara-Vanes 2

Post by diddy »

Lara is -1100 in this fight?? After a draw in the first one?

Vanes has just 2 losses, a split decision to Andrade and a really close fight to Charlo.

How the hell are the odds this wide here? What am I missing?

Lara probably wins but these odds are STUPID.

It shouldn't have been a draw, but I'll drop a small bet on vanes at those odds.

Lara is easily going to out-point Vanes. No questions asked.

When does he ever make anything easy with his low work rate and negative style? Great fighter but his style is why he's been on wrong end of some questionable decisions. Williams. Vanes draw. Molina draw. Canelo.

Judges don't like the way he fights. He makes fights much closer than they need to be and leaves himself, and bettors, exposed.

Odds seem a bit wide but I still favour Lara.
He seems to be improving and is undoubtably the best at LM.

Odds are definitely off. If I was a gambler, I would put some money on Vanes. He is training with Andrade and Monroe Jr which should help him.

I figure Lara wins 116-112 or 117-111 or thereabouts.

With judges who scored Lara losing to Canelo, Vanes could win

No, he didn't. He lost to Canelo's/Oscar's judges.

I didn't see it that way. I saw Lara landing the occasional head shot, Canelo being a lot busier and landed steady, hard body shots. The body shots of Canelo were the most damaging shots of the fight. I didn't see Lara countering enough to win.

88 power punches to 52 power punches from Lara in the Final punchstats. Lara outjabbed him, but it's the hurtful punches that win the fight.

Most of Canelo's body punches were landing on elbows and shouldn't have been counted. He looked like an awkward poppy following his owner who was lightly spanking him on a regular basis.

His body punches were landing every bit as cleanly as Lara's head shots.

I've heard that a lot from people. I'm used to it, and I disagree

Nothing i'd ever argue, either way. More frustrating from Lara whom I feel is clearly more talented. Shitty fight.

I think he's more talented too, just don't think he did enough to win the fight.

He definitely beat Trout a hell of a lot more convincingly than Canelo that's for sure.

I scored Lara and Trout over Canelo, close fights. Not like the 120-108 floyd fight, but very close fights.

No issue, no poor judging, just a lame fight. I had a bet with a friend from Boxing forums I had never met and we watched together for the bar tab. No official shit, just us, I got bored along the way and paid the tab. Honestly, Canelo's worst decision was the stoppage when Gomez was beating him.

I actually never saw that one. I'll have to check that one out sometime.

It's the number of rounds won that win a fight, and I remember the full first half of that fight being Lara popping off jabs from distance and being too far out of Canelo's range to take anything in return.
