Khan was winning?

Post by BAD INTENTIONS »

... even Atlas was saying this bullshit.

If you think Khan was winning before the KO,
you should probably stop trying to score fights.
Just watch and enjoy.

And no one mentions the only reason Khan won the first 2 rounds
is because Canelo was trying to knock his head off.
As soon as he settled down in round 3, the fight changed.

But I guess if you were willing to pay for that shit ...

Yea its hilarious how ppm were saying Khan was winning, shiit the guy won two rds after that Canelo was wearing him with body shots and timing him beautifully .

But the idiots saying Khan was winning had more to do with them hoping Khan was winning.

They wanted Khan to win and only seen what they wanted to see.

Bottom line Canelo was getting on his asd after the 2nd rd from there you knew it was just a matter of time.

I had Khan ahead but Canelo was starting to time him and Khan visibly panicked when he got caught flush. In any case he got KOd so does it really matter?

Khan was winning on volume punching, not effective punching or even really outboxing Canelo. You could tell Canelo was simply being patient and buying time until Khan slowed down and made a mistake. To be honest it was written up that way, pretty much anyone who has followed the 2 fighters could have predicted that outcome. Khan coming out fast throwing alot of combinations with alot of in and out movement to bank a couple rounds, then he would slow down and Canelo would stop him. Like I said Canelo team had that game plan, they weren't even worried about the first couple rounds, so not even sure why people make a big deal about Khan winning a couple rounds that Alvarez basically gave to him by design.

I had Khan 3- 1 even, I Canelo. Khan was ahead, but wasn't really winning the fight in any meaningful sense.

I had Khan up 4 rounds to 2 but just before the KO and upon listening to Lennox Lewis comments regarding the middle rounds, I started to see Canelo becoming more of the boss with his punches.

It doesn't matter. Khan pretty much wins the first few rounds of any fight he is in. He is only a 4 round fighter at best, and goes downhill after that against good competition. The result is the only thing that matters, and Khan got KTFO, like most of us expected.

I'm not a great fan of the guy but to say he's a 4 round fighter at best is incorrect. He's been the 12 8 or 9 times in his career. His concentration levels tend to slip the longer a fight goes though.

Explain to me how Khan won the 4th and 5th rounds.

If you have free time, tell me how he clearly won the 3rd.

Tell me how on earth anyone can find Floyd winning 7 rounds vs Maidana or Pacquiao... to fans just pick the outside runner when they like the guy? Khan was effective from the outside, he took a couple of hellacious body shots which ultimately slowed him down but controlled the range much better than Canelo, who looked lazy and struggled to cut the ring. If he had been willing to eat a few more shots in the way in to land his clearly more effective shots, then i'd be giving him the rounds as the aggressor and effective puncher, but he didn't. I suspect him and his team were content at being behind knowing that he was finding the range and slowing Khan with body shots. I had Khan winning 3 clear rounds, the other 2 were debatable.

Seriously Ricky, if you could have Khan winning that fight ... somehow ... and can't see how Floyd beat Manny or Maidana ... whatever man.

I had Khan up 3-2 going into the 6th but GingerHead had assumed control in the 4th, and it was clear that it was just a matter of when not if Khan was going down.

1 = 10-9 Khan
2 = 10-9 Khan
3 = 10-9 Khan (but very close)
4 = 10-9 GingerHead
5 = 10-9 GingerHead
6 = what (nearly) everyone expected

I despise Khan but had him ahead 3-2.

Of course there are plenty fights where Canelo finds himself in a close battle, because he's so deliberate in his attack.

I was rewatching his bout with Alfonso Gomez and after dropping him in the 1st round, Alvarez took the next 4 rounds off, doing little but stalking.

Just like with Khan, one punch turned it around in the sixth and Canelo's hand was quickly raised.

Khan won the first 2.. The rest to Canelo.. Canelo had a 2-point round going in the 6th if Khan had a fabulous chin and somehow regained his feet. Canelo was in good shape point wise even if you gave Khan the first 3. In that case Canelo was ahead when Khan hit the deck.

..Khan was doing pretty good in the first 3-4 rounds...but isn't that what we expected?..isn't that what often happens when he fights? good for a couple of first rounds, runs out of gas, starts making mistakes, gets hit...and down he goes..
