VADA testing
Does anybody know how many times per month they normally test a certain athlete ?
Re: VADA testing
Usually 3 or 4 times a month.
Re: VADA testing
With all this testing it doesn't enhance my confidence to the point that I actually believe so many sportsmen or women aren't cheating.
It's happened so often it will take a long time before I change my way of thinking.
Events like the Olympics have just become a joke and it's more a case of how many will they catch not was anyone caught.

is an extremely sophisticated machinery out
there that walks an athlete as close as possible
to the edge of the rules. the agencies have top
secret walls around their detection machinery
on the other hand and between these two is a
constant back and forth.
this dynamic is a direct byproduct of professional
sports and in my view will never end.

Listening to someone like Victor Conte I have the realisation that the line is blurred and there is no 'secret wall' around detection techniques.man wrote: top sports is big business and i guess there

Re: VADA testing
As far as i'm aware only Nonito Donaire has ever fully enrolled for proper olympic style testing: that means 365 days a year, random testing 24/7, notifying them of vacations etc.
The rest is just a sham. The Floyd illegal IV drip scam threw alot of light on it. These guys aren't tested when out of training camp meaning they can take what they like then... and then begin camp or sign a fight when its left the system. And if you're powerful enough you can just buy a secret Theraputic Usage Exemption anyway and sweep it under the rug.

You should never change your way of thinking. The sports world had a blind eye to it for decades, athletes were juicing in the 80's freely. You can never make up that time with the chemists. Like this new drug they just decided is bad. There have to be hundreds of PED's the testers don't even know about.Evander wrote:With all this testing it doesn't enhance my confidence to the point that I actually believe so many sportsmen or women aren't cheating.

and some techniques regarding enhancing,
are not even drugs, like own-blood-transfusion.
not sure if that is a factor in boxing, it was in
nordic winter sports.

Re: VADA testing
gene therapy is coming out next. you will literally be able to look like the hulk
without working out or taking drugs. of course in sports technique and coordination
and strategy will always be crucial but the physical side is about to take a massive
leap. even the heavy division now you have guys 6'5"-6'10" who can move and box
and of course bang. look at what an NBA power foward looks and moves like nowadays
compared to the 70's and 80's. look at NFL lineman these days. compare usain bolt
physically to a sprinter from the 60's-70's. scary to think in another 10-20 years what
the biggest strongest world class athletes will look like. add gene therapy to that and
they will look like a different species altogether.
