At his age and career stage - any payday is good for Ortiz (and Ustinov).
Both need to think how to earn enough money not to work as truck drivers in 3-5 years fro today.
Is Alexander Ustinov a good fight for Luis Ortiz?

No...Ortiz must box Fighters in Top 15...
Ustinov is a specialized 300lbs Fighter...we will see how Ortiz will manage this kind of --diet? Whats this?-- fighter type.
I guess he will be not so motivated and we see that on the scale.
Ortiz had strong weight fluctuations in his pro years...for Ustinov i think 240lbs must enough.
When Ortiz win in a super spectacular KO 1 Round win ..who cares?...it was only Ustinov.
Only one ko win more in fight record and stay in Fight Rythm

The politically well connected get the fights they want and the guys who deserve to fight them go begging.. Ortiz was very lucky that John David Jackson agreed to let Bryant Jennings fight him.. I thought JDJ was smarter than that.. However - since Ortiz murdered the iron tough Jennings no other top Heavyweight will give him a nibble. They're going to have to offer somebody an UNREAL amount of money. I'm not sure it's there. Ortiz is 37 and they need to get Fury, Joshua, or Wilder in the ring in rapid fashion or it will be too late to beat these guys.
Actually John David Jackson DID try advising against the Luis Ortiz fight. He tried pulling for Bryant Jennings to get a tune up fight first so they had more time to adjust working with each other.
It was a crazy situation for Jennings. He took on Klitschko, then came down to a different state, work with a different coach, and take on arguably the toughest guy in the whole division right off the bat. I remember JDJ telling me he tried getting Jennings a tune up fight first, and definitely felt they were moving too quickly

It's got nothing to do with handsome. Joshua sells to the wider British public who know nothing about boxing. They won't be impressed with him fighting what appears to be an out of shape fat man much smaller than him. Breazeale, on the other hand, is tall, fit and muscular while Ustinov is just massive. The target public for Joshua would be impressed by them as opponents as they will know nothing about them other than what they see on the night.Kalan wrote:Ustinov doesn't look a whole lot handsomer or fitter than Ruiz - and is about 1/3rd as good. So what's his secret???

Any fight that Ortiz can get is a good fight for him, since no one wants to get in the ring with him.
