Not sure if this is on topic or not but the more I am exposed to the mind of "English" the less I respect him.
Read his autobiography recently & the general feeling throughout the book was "What a load of old bollocks"
Anyway, Jnr needs to be with a decent promoter & it looks like he's realised that in Hearn. Best of luck to them.

Why wasn't the announcement of this announcement announced?

Smart move for Eubank Jr.
Re: Eubank Jr re-signs with Matchroom
That's going to be announced after the announcement. It's another fresh new idea from Hearn.olij999 wrote:Why wasn't the announcement of this announcement announced?

Read his book quite a few year back and remember quite enjoying it, maybe it was just me. Do remember quite a few random bits about about his missus not being happy about him bringing tramps homeTaansend wrote:Not sure if this is on topic or not but the more I am exposed to the mind of "English" the less I respect him.

Card seems to be stacking up nicely.
Any ideas/rumours on the opponent?
Defence of his British?
Re: Eubank Jr re-signs with Matchroom
Been a huge fan of his since he came back to England. Remember reading about this prospect in Boxing News. Saw him live maybe a dozen times. Was always a bit of a hero to me (as was/is Benn).Webbo911 wrote:Read his book quite a few year back and remember quite enjoying it, maybe it was just me. But now I am older I realise that he's full of shite
Still think he's brilliant but the rose coloured specs are off.
Re: Eubank Jr re-signs with Matchroom
Me too even though I think he is a bit of a berk, and a fraud with that BS act. Although I think he has been doing it so long, it is nearly natural nowWebbo911 wrote:

Re: Eubank Jr re-signs with Matchroom
Can't see this deal lasting long. Why did they go their separate ways the last time? If it does last it makes a rematch with BJS a bit harder to make.
Re: Eubank Jr re-signs with Matchroom
Doran sounds about right with the notice and the budget avalible for the opponent, expect a better opponent for the next outing and when he`s the true chief support to Joshua, the Grove-Murrey fight wouldn`t of been cheap to put on.

John Ryder?
Re: Eubank Jr re-signs with Matchroom
Did anyone else expect this to open and say “re-sits driving test or re-sits GCSE” or something? Bit of an anti-climax for me..

Re: Eubank Jr re-signs with Matchroom
Eubank could of easily got a summer showdown rematch with with Saunders and probably could of got a million pound pay pay day out of it, now will probably won't see a rematch anytime soon.

The Eubanks will jump around from promoter to promoter for as long as they are going to make them a load of money. As much as they will drive Matchroom and Queensbury mental both would be happy to sign him on a 2 fight deal.Stuarty30 wrote:Can't see this deal lasting long. likewise, i read it a long time ago and remember enjoying it and laughing out aloud a couple of times. What annoyed you taansend or was it just generally annoying?
Re: Eubank Jr re-signs with Matchroom
Apparently it's only a 2 fight deal. What does Hearn get from that? Eubank is great to watch but in reality won't add a lot of buys to the AJ card if the opponent is anything like we expect. Unless he's got a big fight lined up for number 2 or has it in good faith that the partnership will carry on it seems a bit weird to me. Can see Eubank back working with Frank for the Saunders rematch next year. Fair play to him though, makes it clear that the promoters work for him and not the other way around, even if they are apparently a nightmare to deal with.

I agree mate, too many fighters end up stuck in contracts they're not happy with because they sign themselves over for years at a time.ElJefe wrote:Apparently it's only a 2 fight deal. I know it's only fighters with a certain name that can fully dictate terms but more fighters should try to keep the power balance stacked in their favour.

I wouldn't use the word 'annoying' as such. I've always known that Eubank was a pompous, but interesting, character but the general feeling I got from reading his book was "I am morally superior to everyone & always right - even when I'm thieving".
I also felt that he could have covered more of his other work in New York. Instead of a chapter about how well he treated a posh tramp he could have gone into detail about how he got into protecting gamblers. I know that sporting biographies are notoriously shallow but I was expecting more from the deep & mystical Chris Eubank.
I still think he's brilliant though
Re: Eubank Jr re-signs with Matchroom
You never know this could force BJS to the GGG fight.
What other choice has he got to make big money ....
Now he is the only belt holder left he could get more than what was offered last time ( reportedly between $2-3million)
