I was ringside that night Anthony and Monterio landed heavy, heavy shots throughout the fight with seemingly endless stamina. If I was you I would be very bitter!
Shit happens m8 I don't get bitter. Seen him a while afterwards outside the ring, he's a coward

I think he's better hanging up his gloves. I just don't think he is confident enough in the ring. I think pre-Thompson price would have knocked out Teper. I hope I'm wrong, but I'm doubtful he'll ever be able to be confident enough.

I don't think its fair to call him bitter- Lets have it right heavyweight boxing is dangerous enough to go in against someone like Tepper who was drugged up and have everyone questioning you.

Lets have it right we will never know for 100% how that fight would of went without him cheating so we can only deal with the facts that he did cheat so can't consider it a fair win or loss either way - wish Pricey all the best on his comeback he has the power to knock anyone out so will always be exciting to watch.

I've posted before but it bugs me no end about this people saying fighters would of lost anyway after an opponent fails a drug test you don't know that for certain and never will

I do agree with what you are saying, however the fundamental issue is that Price does not like to get hit and when he does it is goodnight Vienna.

As I don't know of any PED that directly improves punching power it could be argued that the punch would have landed sooner or later anyway (its effects as a result of technique and timing - which are not affected by PED's - rather than pure power) although you could also argue that he may have not had the stamina or fitness to be around at that point to throw the shot etc.

If he carries on I look forward to the many "who will win Price or (Hughie) Fury" threads that will follow .....

It can be argued sooner or later it would of landed but as I said will never 100% be proven so the clean athlete for me should always get the benefit of the doubt.

With some good matchmaking he can still be a force.
I'd fancy him against fighters who don't have one punch knockout power.

Malik Scott or Del Chisora would be good fights to aim for.

Scoops wrote:I don't blame him for feeling bitter. Regardless of whether or not he would have beaten Tony Thompson or Erkan Teper anyway he's only lost to two men and both have failed drugs tests.

However, I think he should focus his energy looking forward. He can either sit about and think of what might have been or get out there and do something about it.

The problem is it's hard to plot a route back for him as there are not many heavyweights who he would expect to beat but will give him rounds and develop him. At the moment it seems like the opponents will either be very poor who, with his power, he will knock out in a round or two or too dangerous.

If I were him I'd look at the likes of Gary Cornish, David Allen or Ian Lewison. If he can attach a British / Commonwealth title to these fights at some point so much the better. My plan for him would be to try and win the Lonsdale belt outright, earn a bit of cash to help pay off the mortgage and give the kids a decent start in life and hope to get himself in a position where he can challenge for something bigger later on.

He really needs four or five wins and hope another Charles Martin comes along. He'll always have a puncher's chance and if he can get himself in a position where he could be a credible opponent for the likes of Tyson Fury, Anthony Joshua or David Haye then has has the chance of ending his career with a nice PPV purse as a retirement fund.

I wish him well as he always comes across as a nice guy.
Thompson failed a drug test for one of their fights. It was for medication for high blood pressure as it was. Seems a little like Price is clutching at straws somewhat.

What about the fact that Thompson only failed a drug test for one of their fights? What about the other loss where no drug was failed? Also, Thompson failed a drug test for medication he was taking for high blood pressure being a lardy, middle aged fella.

What about it You have totally missed my point - I don't see anywhere in my post where I referenced the Thompson fight I have said I don't believe its fair to call Pricey bitter hes pissed off he was beaten by a drugs cheat in Tepper cos nobody can ever say how that fight would of went without Tepper being on the banned substance but seeing as you brought Thompson's was also a masking agent so you don't know what he was on to be fair in Daves interviews if you watch them he says similar he doesn't know what Thompson was on as it can't be proved he did however take a banned substance however you look at it he has every right to be pissed off about the Tepper one called boxing fans saying it doesn't matter people have cheated on drugs is deplorable you would be the first calling for criminal action against a drugs cheat who seriously injured someone in a ring

If you can't beat them join them. I'm waiting for the David Price comeback where he has a rhino neck, michelin man arms and legs and a chin made of granite. It works for Joshua right? :TU:

I don't understand why he wouldn't take the Dave Allen fight at Goodison Park. I think it would be a decent comeback fight for Price. Dave Allen is undefeated and it would be a easy night for Price.

He has a very good right to be bitter. He was given brain damage by a guy using PEDs, what's he supposed to do, just say OK, it's fine, no problem?
