Re: Parker vs Takam UK time?
Looking forward to seeing Parker finally,I'm pretty sure this will be the 1st time he's fought on UK TV, I've heard of him for a few years now,he'll definitely have his work cut out for him with Takam, who you know will expose him if he's any major flaws,if Joseph can stop him I'll be very impressed, if Carlos stops him then I'd be less surprised as Parker still has to step up

I still see him as a hypejob. Takam will take him the distance but Parker will still win on points.handsofstone wrote:Looking forward to seeing Parker finally,I'm pretty sure this will be the 1st time he's fought on UK TV, I've heard of him for a few years now,he'll definitely have his work cut out for him with Takam, who you know will expose him if he's any major flaws,if Joseph can stop him I'll be very impressed, if Carlos stops him then I'd be less surprised as Parker still has to step up
Browne-Parker would be huge in the Southern Hemisphere as I can't see Parker beating AJ.
Re: Parker vs Takam UK time?
I'm really looking forward this. Parker puts his combinations together very well and has the fastest hands in the division. He's a likeable guy and has an exciting style. If he comes through this impressively then the hype for him will really begin to get some momentum, although I'd much rather see him build a profile over here by fighting somebody like Chisora or Whyte rather than go straight in with AJ.

Yes but I was thinking Parker-Browne late 2017. By then Parker could of lost to AJ and Browne would be back from suspension.sjollema wrote:PredatorHayds wrote:I still see him as a hypejob. Re: Parker vs Takam UK time?
In a slight aside, I see Sky building this as "The Fight to Fight AJ"... Which shows how much belief they have in their own forthcoming PPV headliner, and how much of a challenge they think Breazeale will be. AJ's already on to the next one.
Don't get me wrong, I'll be surprised if Breazeale makes it out of R1, but Sky can't go spinning crap about how even a-match Joshua v Breazeale is and how DB has so much potential threat to Joshua when they're already disregarding the fight themselves.

Re: Parker vs Takam UK time?
Parker will win this comfortably. He's just the better boxer. Takam is easily outboxed. We will find out about his power in this fight.
Re: Parker vs Takam UK time?
The fastest hands in the division with Haye active?
Re: Parker vs Takam UK time?
Not sure, but if Parker doesn't have the fastest hands in the division they're certainly close to it.SamWise72 wrote:The fastest hands in the division with Haye active?
Re: Parker vs Takam UK time?
It should be a great fight and could be the beginning of the making of Parker, his toughest opponent yet by far IMO. We'll see on Saturday if he's got what it takes to mix it with the top tier, or maybe he'll turn out to be NZs answer to our David Price. Looking forward to it.
Re: Parker vs Takam UK time?
If Parker can get past Takam in style then he has arguably graduated to a level above AJ as things stand. Sets up a fight between the two nicely.
Re: Parker vs Takam UK time?
It would clearly be better than any of AJ's wins in my opinion, although I suspect that AJ is still the better of the two.Stuarty30 wrote:If Parker can get past Takam in style then he has arguably graduated to a level above AJ as things stand. Sets up a fight between the two nicely.
Re: Parker vs Takam UK time?
Yeah I wouldn't argue with that. Interesting fight though. Hopefully if they both come through we'll see it this year. I think Parker will KO Takam inside 6 and I'd fancy AJ to do the same maybe a bit earlier. Re: Parker vs Takam UK time?
I would be very surprised if Takam goed down inside 6, many far worser boxers made it way beyond round 6 against Parker and Takam is by far the best boxer Parker ever faced. I think the chance of Takam winning by KO is in fact bigger as Parker winning by KO.Stuarty30 wrote:Yeah I wouldn't argue with that. Interesting fight though. Re: Parker vs Takam UK time?
I just think Parker will make a statement here. Big night for him and once he catches Takam I think he'll just be all over him. Of course their records don't suggest that's the way things will pan out but if all fights were dictated by records and form then we'd have a hell of a boring, predictable sport on our hands. In any case I'm looking forward to the fight. I'm hoping whoever wins will fight AJ this year.asdfjkl wrote:I would be very surprised if Takam goed down inside 6, many far worser boxers made it way beyond round 6 against Parker and Takam is by far the best boxer Parker ever faced. Re: Parker vs Takam UK time?
I thought it was Sunday morning.
But after reading about the weigh in overnight turns out it is Saturday morning 11am.
Only seen highlights of Parker so this fight will decide if he is any good or not.
A problem he will have is not travelling for a fight before. Don't forget he has to fight Pulev to become AJs mandatory providing he wins tomorrow. It would be in his long term benefit to travel to a Saurland show for that IMO.

Re: Parker vs Takam UK time?
Well looks like Duco Sports Parkers promoters will be liable for false advertising. It's heavily advertised here in New Zealand that the winner of Takam Parker, goes straight to fight Joshua for the title. I've repeated this before on this thread, just to let everyone know what the word is down here. I just want to know what the deal is..Naandrew wrote:Don't forget he has to fight Pulev to become AJs mandatory providing he wins tomorrow.

Re: Parker vs Takam UK time?
If Parker beats Takam he's certainly making a statement, especially when it's on KO and an unbelieveble statement if he does it within 6 rounds.Stuarty30 wrote:Dixonian wrote:This is asdfjkl you're talking to. It's the only way he is able to compute boxing matters.Stuarty30 wrote:

Even Jason Bergman made it till round 8, how on earth would it be possible that Takam wouldn't?
