Re: GGG Needs To Earn His Shot By Fighting Lara!
You're an idiot. Lara lost to Canelo and Williams. Even though he was robbed in those fights - he's a Cuban who refuses to learn English so what does he expect in the corrupt world of Boxing??? GGG doesn't allow robberies because he smashes all his opponents and nobody won more than 1 round against him. Lara hasn't fought a Middleweight and fights at Super Welterweight. Alvarez fights at Caneloweight - the next division up. Lara should try to get a legitimate rematch with the cowardly Cinnamon Kid. Barring that he needs to fight the Charlo's and Andrade in his own division. He's fighting horsepucky fighters.bnovelist wrote:He hasn't fought ONE name opponent and he feels he deserves a Canelo payday? Fight Lara!
Golovkin is concentrating on fighting Sanders and Jacobs. The best Middleweights have been ducking him for 7 years. When he collects all the titles he'll move on to 168 and eventually 175 for a super fight with Kovalev - who'll beat Ward but seems to be having trouble getting him in a ring.

G, while a big name now, is still growing his brand. No one looks good against Lara. All the haters would just scream that G looked like shit beating a smaller guy. The fight just doesn't make sense. Lara is a weight below. The other top MWs make much more sense and would make for much much more entertaining fights. But you already know this.Horse wrote:So Golovkin should run from one of his best possible opponents?Impractical Poster wrote:G is trying to attract fans, not detract them. Let me make myself clear, I am not opposed to a Lara fight. Just that it doesn't make much sense right now. Lara moves in weight and automatically gets a shot at the undisputed Mw King. A bit pompous for a fighter who puts fans to sleep.
Re: GGG Needs To Earn His Shot By Fighting Lara!
So he should duck possibly the best challenge that he has at middleweight because he might make him look bad, whilst complaining about another guy ducking him for the same reason?Impractical Poster wrote:G, while a big name now, is still growing his brand. One shouldn't complain about others ducking them, if they are also ducking other fighters. That would make them a hypocrite.

Alvarez/G brings a lot of money to the table. It is the most anticipated fight in boxing. Lara has never ever been that guy. He brings no money and a horrible style. Plus he is no where near a mandatory. Lara is just a go to for people to bitch about G.Horse wrote:So he should duck possibly the best challenge that he has at middleweight because he might make him look bad, whilst complaining about another guy ducking him for the same reason?Impractical Poster wrote:G, while a big name now, is still growing his brand. Khan was the #2 or #3 ranked Welterweight or whatever and he just leaped right up and got a shot at Canelo, no big whup.
Lara is certainly more qualified than him for that.
Nobody would give a damn if Terence Crawford moved right up and fought Keith Thurman or Danny Garcia in his first fight at Welterweight so why should Lara be held to a different standard?

It's impossible to duck a fighter whose promoter won't work with your network. Al let Wade collect his mandatory paycheck and HBO aired it. That doesn't mean Haymon is going to serve up his Jr Middleweight stable to GGG on another network. Horse is an eternal optimist with this stuff, but it's Boxing never never land.Impractical Poster wrote:Alvarez/G brings a lot of money to the table. It is the most anticipated fight in boxing. That's not happening either. Jacobs/Lara is infinitely more likely.

Golovkin should have his team try to make the fight. If Lara's team refuses then it's not Golovkin's fault.
Karma can be a bitch. If Golovkin's not willing to take the risk then why should anyone else do him any favours?

Of course it would, but Haymon would have Jacobs drop his belt rather than face GGG.Impractical Poster wrote:Wouldn't Jacobs make much more sense?gilgamesh wrote:He's the #1 ranked Jr. Middleweight by most people.Impractical Poster wrote:Let me make myself clear, I am not opposed to a Lara fight. Yes. He's less marketable. Danny is American, he's a Cancer Survivor. He's got a lot more selling points than Lara.Impractical Poster wrote:You believe Haymon would rather sacrifice Lara?gilgamesh wrote:Of course it would, but Haymon would have Jacobs drop his belt rather than face GGG.Impractical Poster wrote: Wouldn't Jacobs make much more sense?

Has any one from Haymon's camp contacted anyone from G's camp? Or is Lara, himself, just telling the media that he wants to fight G? Cause Canelo did a pretty good job of acting like he wanted the fight after the Khan win... Or is it up to G to seek out Lara?

Nope, he would rather Lara lose to a Charlo brother or Jacobs than GGG. Al isn't putting any of those guys in with Golovkin.gilgamesh wrote:Yes. He's less marketable. I didn't say necessarily that I think Al would risk either Danny or Lara, just that Lara would be the more likely of the two I thought. But yeah Al usually doesn't let the big names fight outside of the company store.SaadOffTheDeck wrote:Nope, he would rather Lara lose to a Charlo brother or Jacobs than GGG. I think ggg/Jacobs generates much more money. Making it more likely. He's loaded at 47/54, none of them are fighting anyone outside the family unless it's a mandatory.

What a joke some-one throws away a World Boxing title[Canelo] and the guy he throws it to or [VACATES] so he doesn't have to fight in GGG is now the guy who needs to earn it.......... the right to fight the guy who vacates [threw it away]because he doesn't want to fight
........OK
Re: GGG Needs To Earn His Shot By Fighting Lara!
I seriously doubt GGG would see Lara as a risk, and I seriously doubt his team would either. Why fight an over rated super welter weight, not even the best super welter, for peanuts? A Kazakh and a boring Cuban who no one but boxing purists know or like isn't going to bring in any money and Lara brings absolutely nothing else to the table. And to think Golovkin would have total control of who he's fighting and when is quite nieve, his promoters and managers most likely just can't be fuckd persuing the bout, although I wish they would so Golovkin could smash him and shut up the dickheads saying it would be a good fight and that Golovkin is ducking him.Horse wrote:Golovkin makes it easy by ducking him.Impractical Poster wrote:Alvarez/G brings a lot of money to the table. Lara is a much more recognizable name than 9 out of the lat 10 GGG opponents, if not all of them. He will fight at 160, no problem. What is the hold up in GGG's camp?
