Pickering to get IBF title shot

Post by Wales »

Some rumours doing the rounds that pickering is going to get a title shot against the unbeaten Brazilian Valdemir Pereira (current IBF featherweight champion). Anyone seeen much of Pereria, can Esham bring home the title ?

The question should be does he deserve a shot ???

Loses at Super Bantamweight & then gets a crack at the Featherweight title :o

If he does get the shot good look to him but i'm sure their are more deserving folk out there.

Seen only highlights on KOTV...when he won tha belt against the thai....looked good....throws lots o punches...looked game...cant see Esham having the strength to keep him away though...

Agreed, superb match making by FA if they can pull it off. COuld be some nteresting matches to be made should Esham win the title. Esham Hunter 2 for the IBF title? The possibility of a unification is also there.

I'm a fan of Pickering but if this is true, it sums up the perverse nature of boxing today, as Foggy outlines.

first defenses are notoriously easy...
I mean the worst case at the moment has to be Shannon Taylor...gets knocked out by Ray Joval then gets a world title shot.
He has a very good team as he has got some great fights over the years....
