Nobody cares about this at all. Haye could have fought Briggs as his comeback fight. It's pathetic that they've taken three fights the build to this.

I wish Haye would just go away.

I gave Haye the benefit of the doubt before the comeback began as I am, or had been a big fan but his opponent selection and the panto feel of the promotions has made me now consider it all a sideshow, circus act that is not a serious attempt at reaching the world summit.

As a sporting event I have zero interest in him versus Briggs, but I am going to take it for what it is - two fighters carrying excess weight, one or both of who looks to have had chemical assistance, playing out an old fashioned WWE esq event with lots of boos, hissing, cheering, ranting, shouting and then a scripted or at least obvious ending main event.

This is WWE type stuff. Haye's career as a heavy is a bad joke.

I'm most interested to see who ends up broadcasting this thing. Haye's one of the most popular boxers in the UK.

Anthony Joshua probably does.

Surprisingly, I expect this fight to go to distance actually, David Haye seems to me like quite featherfisted atm, but he got better lungs, so he probably wins anyway.

Even asdfjkl has lost interest! Nobody gives a flying fornicate! I hope Haye and Briggs both fall down a well forever.

Agree with this; it's pathetic from Haye.

Haye says the public want this!

Which 'public' is he talking about?

It's funny how the 'public' always demand that he shares the ring with huge piles of sh!te like Audley Harrison & now Shannon Briggs!

We can all say what we want about Briggs getting hurt
but the sad reality is this man was never going to fornicate off until he got a payday and sparked out so we might as well let him at it

You marked my words already, go ahead, I really wouldn't be surprised if Briggs can take a hell of a lot more of a beating as you guys might expect.

That may be the case but the referee is stopping this before 12 rounds have passed with the beating Briggs will take.

No idea why you love him so much but this is as lopsided as either Briggs or Haye's fights at the weekend, and is downright dangerous for Shannon.

You can laugh at our asdfjkl, but didn't he just call the Takam Parker fight right?

No idea but that's a world apart from saying Haye goes the full 12 rounds with old father time. I believe he also said Fury had no chance with Klitschko prior to November too.

EDIT: Just before he denies it..
asdfjkl wrote:I think I can name about 10 boxers that are better as Tyson Fury, so this is just temporary talk, he'll wake up after the fight.
asdfjkl wrote: The best boxer Fury has ever won against is Chisora right?
Chisora is about as good as David Haye, who lost against Carl Thompson?!
Sorry mate, but I really don't think Fury is as good as some people seem to think
asdfjkl wrote:If I didn't, then how did I get those names?
I would have probably ended up with Wilder, or Joshua's opponend of yesterday, or agreed that Fury is the best.
But no, he isn't, he's just a hype with a bit of luck and most people know it. He's not a complete bum, but he's not the rank 3 of the world either, like Boxrec got him at this moment and neither is Wilder rank 4.

Even Tyson Fury himself disagrees with you, I'm still not that impressed about Fury. I do like his talkstuff though. But I'm still quite confident he won't beat Klitschko and he will continue to box after Klitschko.

I'm not going to go and try and find it all, but his genius contributions to the forum as a whole have already included;

posting photos of 7 foot Dutch body builders who would win world titles if they took up boxing and trained for a few months.

The assertion that the average Dutch woman could beat up most boxers below lightweight

Valuev had pain in all bones in his body. Constant pain.

Suggesting that boxing should change format and become tornament based, like kickboxing.

And of course, his unconditional love for the Cannon!

Look man, a stopped clock is right twice a day. Shannon's melon can take some dents and i thought Haye looked like dogshit this time out, wobbling about in his nappy. It's not inconceivable that Haye might not just bang him out. It'll be ten rounds anyway. Stranger things have happened.

Do you think you're better as him?

Oh I absolutely agree, it will be fun, and Briggs has a punchers chance, but that's it. It's not going anywhere near 12 rounds and it's not even remotely competitive for Haye, but I absolutely agree it'll be a fun event with all the build up etc and the show itself. I just can't see Briggs even seeing half way, never mind 12 rounds.

I see it going one of two ways.

1. Shannon comes out firing on all cylinders, gets caught with some big shots and gets knocked out.

or

2. Shannon comes out firing on all cylinders, gets caught with some big shots and goes into his shell for the rest of the fight.

Can Hayes current DAVE model support the purses these 2 men are going to require?
Or will Haye have to go with another broadcaster/platform?

The ref will step in to stop it before half way. I've no doubt.

For 1 round Briggs will give it a go, then run out of steam, and start getting clarted round the ring.

I wouldn't be surprised to see it as chief support to a Sky PPV....Joshua maybe? Could fight again in September? They'd then bill it as an 'eliminator' with the two winners meeting early 2017...

Briggs wont be able to demand much. He has very limited options. Haye has the whip hand as he is the promoter and the ticket seller. If briggs asks for too much he'll be replaced.

From what I hear, it's already agreed.

Yes. If he has Fournier on the bill as chief support. Money buys air time.
