Is it just me or is Briggs starting to win people over?? I like him,he talks trash but he's like a louder Ali(without the wit of course) as opposed to a snarling ogre

Well it literally shows that this approach works. He should be nowhere near a ring with someone like Haye at this stage of his career. It's (6?) year since he was hospitalised against Vitali Klitschko and he was many years passed his best then.

I don't begrudge Briggs the payday. It can be no worse than Haye's opponent last night. Briggs has got a good story aswell.

With his chin and heart, Briggs will take a hellacious beatdown in September.
Let's go shellacking.

I really like the guy. He has an infectious personality. I think most of us agree that his chasing of Haye is financially motivated. I hope he gets a good pay day and doesn't take too much of a tanking in the process. It would be awesome if he somehow managed to find a bingo punch and win but that's unlikely. The fight will sell largely because of Briggs and Haye knows that so hopefully he's paid accordingly.
Re: Shannon Briggs Post Fight Press Conference
At the risk of taking Saturday night seriously, Briggs looked very slow while Haye looked fairly sharp.
I would love to see Briggs win because he comes across quite a likeable fella, when you takeaway all the nonsense.

No doubt....the approach has definitely worked and even some knowledgable fans are now forgetting that Briggs was beaten into intensive care the last time he didn't face a clubfighter, which of course was several years ago.SNG wrote:Well it literally shows that this approach works. I worry for Shannon's health and hope that he goes down early rather than taking another prolonged battering.

Good luck to him. Hope he gets a good payday.
Behind all the catchphrases and gimmicks he seems a genuinely nice guy.

This does set a dangerous precedent though.
All Briggs' posturing is tongue in cheek and the "victims" of his campaign are in on the act but copycats may emerge who cross the line between good natured nonsense and seriously confrontational behaviour resulting in Haye Chisora type public bustups.
Fun to watch but not necessarily good for the sport

Haye was far from sharp I thought he was very cumbersome and slow comparing him from before, the final barrage of punches was embarrasing to watch Haye looked like a 2 fight novice going for the kill, he was all over the place.
Now we have to wait until septembe ? fook sake they did less than 3 rounds between them, what a complete joke!

It's hard to guage Haye, he knew he was facing someone with no ambition, so fought down to his opponent's level somewhat possibly.Rexob wrote:MrJasonM wrote:At the risk of taking Saturday night seriously, Briggs looked very slow while Haye looked fairly sharp.
