Briggs wont be able to demand much. He has very limited options. Haye has the whip hand as he is the promoter and the ticket seller. If briggs asks for too much he'll be replaced.
From what I hear, it's already agreed.
Yes, it sounds like it to me.

Briggs will be paid enough to keep him happy, which won't be that much, he must have been earning peanuts with the crowds he was drawing recently.

Farce of a fight, and both Haye and Briggs can fornicate right off. If there was any shred of doubt that this whole charade wasn't a con of the public, here's Haye had to say on Briggs SIX YEARS AGO...

"Years past his best" six years ago... So Haye can absolutely do one trying to convince anyone that this September bout is a big fight, evenly matched fight, anything other than a complete circus.

But Haye's said as much recently. He hasn't tried bigging this fight up, that's all Shannon's work. It's got people talking, and Haye is basically saying: "Fine, if this is what you want and you're willing to pay..."

Or will Haye have to go with another broadcaster/platform?
Yes. If he has Fournier on the bill as chief support. Money buys air time.
No way Fournier fights on terrestrial tv again.

He's a PPV fighter. Looks like a Dickinson on a Joshua undercard then he will get Bellew in Hyde Park. Eddie will have to put in 250k removable seating in to get all the fans in.

You marked my words already, go ahead, I really wouldn't be surprised if Briggs can take a hell of a lot more of a beating as you guys might expect.
That may be the case but the referee is stopping this before 12 rounds have passed with the beating Briggs will take.

No idea why you love him so much but this is as lopsided as either Briggs or Haye's fights at the weekend, and is downright dangerous for Shannon.
I don't love him that much actually, he just got better ranks as Haye, so Haye might be lucky Briggs accepts him actually. Next to that it's nice money for both of them, there isn't that much risk involved actually. I think most of AJ's opponends have a lot more to fear when it comes to health risks.

Edit: And I fully admit I was wrong about Tyson Fury, I've said that many times ever since. I even refuse to predict who will win the next match. I think if the fight happens today that Wlad would win. I even think that if the fight happened two months before it happened last time that Wlad would win, but Fury proved me wrong before, so I guess I'd have to shut my mouth around him. I'm not editting posts that I made longer as a day ago, or to prove others wrong or bullshit like that. If you really trace all my posts you will see that I admit on more spots that I've been wrong around him.
For me he's a good boxer with a massive reach, somehow I still think that if he faces a really agressive opponend, who accepts beïng his himself before hitting Fury, that he will lose anyway. I think even Wlad can do it, but the style he used last time (fighting from distance) is impossible against someone with a longer reach, like Tyson Fury.
Nevertheless, how amazing is it that Povetkin made it this far, he's not that heavy, he's not that tall, he got a very short reach and before Klitschko couldn't even hit that hard.

You're using 'as' incorrectly again.

It's like describing Shannon Briggs as a 'brilliant' fighter when you actually mean 'garbage', relatively speaking.

If you're typing 'as', just replace it with 'than'. It really isn't hard.

Come September when it needs to sell and he's back at Canary Wharf giving out free tickets and free signed gloves again, we'll be hearing how Briggs is still a force in the division and it's going to be tough etc.

I'll watch the fight if it is on the Dave Channel.

Haye's difficulty is that he hasn't got anywhere to go, because the 2 BIG FIGHTS that he wants just aren't going to materialize anytime soon.

Anthony Joshua will dispose of Dominic Breazale next month and Eddie Hearn has already said that they want a voluntary defense before signing for the mandatory defense against Parker.

AJ has already repeatedly said that he wants to give Dillian Whyte a rematch, so I can see that fight happening (probably around September) before committing to his mandatory defense (say Feb '17)

And as for Tyson Fury, who can honestly say that they know what he's going to do?

Regarding Haye vs Briggs, I do think that they could both hurt each other, so it could be a more interesting fight than what some on here are suggesting.

Agreed. It will be fun while it lasts. Briggs knows his only chance is within the first two rounds.

Haye suggested recently that they were making it happen, but he really is dragging his feet! Why is he taking such large breaks in between fights? It seems so un-economical that he's getting in shape, knocking over a tin can, taking several months off and starting again. Get in shape, have 3-4 fights in 4 months, get your eye in, and then shape up a big fight. Does Haye really need 4 months off after 1 round with Mark De Mori?!

It's called trolling. The consistencies in his idiot 'character' are that he uses "as" instead of "than" and says "opponend" instead of "opponent", champions Shannon Briggs and is purposefully ignorant about any division other than heavyweight (see "I have never heard of this Tony Bellew"). He knows how to use an apostrophe and his posts are otherwise grammatically correct mostly, and he's been picked up on that as/than thing loads of times and never responds to it. He's just an idiot for the purpose of being irritating. The board is full of people trolling like this, and that's what the ignore button is for.

Unfortunately if you quote him, I can see him, and so I get to read him whether he's noise is hidden or not.

Did he make any money last time out? Promoting is only easy when you make a profit. It's not the money for old rope business some people think. For all we know, Haye may have spunked a fortune putting that last show on (or only made it wipe its feet cos he was paying buttons) and may now be struggling to work out how to make the Briggs fight pay. Just guessing.

Yeah, his comeback has been a load of utter shite.

To think people are awaiting a fight with Briggs as the highlight of his comeback thus far!

I wouldn't be surprised if he retired again if he can't get the big fight he wants soon.

Or porn? I could definitely see him starring in some boxing themed production.

He's too old for that unfortunately. You know when you were 20 and thought George Foreman was an old man? That's how the young uns will see Haye.-

I hear there's more money in gay porn than straight, so there's a very obvious theme-lending title. They could rework Patrick Stewart's script where Haye just goes around and his celebrity-mates' clothes fall off.

I'll wait for Humble in the Grumble.

Well I really have no idea how much money he made on the last few fights, but that's clearly not what he's working towards. He's working towards the golden egg of Joshua, Wilder, Fury etc.

For his comeback fights he should of fought on an undercard and not concentrated so heavily on promoting the fights himself. I think he's done nothing more than damage his reputation with the boxing fraternity, and probably not made the profits he was hoping for. Unfortunately for him he's competing against the Matchroom machine, which is putting on regular successful events which are hitting big numbers with the PPV. He's promoting a poor main event with a zero undercard. He could have, and should have had 3-4 comeback fights by now, got himself a half decent ranking, and be shaping up for a big fight. Instead he's fought two massively under-levelled fighters in 6 months and preparing for Briggs. Going nowhere slowly.
