Good shout.

An all Welsh one between Barry Jones and Steve Robinson would have been interesting also - got close to being made.

Anyone care to predict how they think these fights would have mapped out.

Confident it will never happen, James?
Relatively...If Hatton loses to Tszyu, Witter is going to take some persuading to fight him, especially if he goes on to win a title himself, which is looking more and more like it could happen.

If Hatton beats Tszyu, Witter will be a long long way down the queue.

It may happen, but only when both men are on the way down.

This is where I disagree James, I think if Hatton beat Tszyu it will happen. Ricky is mandatory so I wouldn't have thought he would be fighting the mandatory for a while.

Look a hard long the road has been for Hatton to get this fight - I still think it will be hardish to get the huge fights. Alot of the fighters seem to have other plans, who knows what will happen between Mayweather and Gatti - I assume that their next fight will be a rematch.

Perhaps Witter signing with GBP might have scuppered it - but I think Frank was waiting for one or both to secure a world title before making this a PPV event in the UK.

witter vs Hatton... and we all know who was at fault.

hatton chose to fight the likes of Vilches/Rios/|Pederson/Smith/ancient phillips/ancient oliviera etc instead of fighting his first ever SLICK fighter, Junior "The Hitter" Witter.

I wonder why??

Fogot Trinidad - also Mosley, Tsyzu and Forrest fights would have been good.

Mosley v Tszyu would have been great. Tszyu lost just at the point when the fight could have happened and Mosley moved up to Welterweight without even setting foot in the division.

Though Mosley was good at Welter, I always felt he would have been virtually unstoppable at LW, where his speed and power would have been phenomenal.

That would've been a great one - I'd go with Ike, at his peak, to KO Trinidad late. Big punch AND a great chin.

Mosley-tsyzu would have been fantastic and a real 50-50 - Mosley would have the same speed advanatges Mitchell/Judah/Hatton had but would be stronger, better chin and a better fighter than both. I'd pick Mosley to do what hatton did but with a little more finese to a fitter Tyszu. BUT Tsyzu could do poleaxe Mosley the way Forrest did.

Nah, don't think Tszyu could have stopped Mosley mate, Forrest was a light middleweight boiled down to make weight, and it was his long arms and straight shots which did the damage.

I actually think Mosley may well have brutalised Tszyu, much like Vince Phillips did but quicker. Mosley would have been so strong and quick at that weight, and still mobile.

Find it hard to see Tszyu winning that one as I don't think he could have hurt Mosley often enough to turn the tide.

Pretty sure it was one a piece between him and Jones Jr in the ams, which is what made the professional clash so enticing.
I'd have favoured Jones by a wide UD.
