Tyrone Nurse vs Willie Limond

Post by Stuarty »

This fight seems to have went under the radar a bit. Both good boxers. Really good match up this. How does everyone see it going?

Yeah he's sound. I used to work in the plumbers merchants and two of the plumbers were working with him on a job. They told him I was in to the boxing and he came in with them and handed me a signed glove and some signed posters. Met him a few times after that as well.

Tidy boxer. If he's on form it's going to be a hard night for Nurse. I favour Nurse slightly but I can see Limond getting to him and maybe even putting him over. Could be tight on the cards.

Nurse on points.

He's improved a lot recently. Nurse-Catterall isn't a forgone conclusion either.

Whatever the result it promises to be a painfully dull encounter.

Did he use endfeed or compression tho? Bundle of 15mm? Was it a national merchant or an independent?

Anyway, that was decent of him.

He's a joiner mate. Was just working with a couple of guys on a job. Was an independent. Stevenson Milloy. They went tits up and I got a big money transfer to Graham's.

I've never done Graham's. Only Travis Perkins and jayhards (who are now city plumbing). The rest has been bathroom showrooms. Only sold to footballers and a few z list celebs. No boxers.

I'd love for Limond to pull it off and regain the title he was (wrongly) made to relinquish but i just cant see it TBH,i think Nurse is his worst nightmare stylistically, tall, rangy, awkward, southpaw, young with loads of mobility,i'd actaully be surprised if Willie wins more than 2 rounds,i think Tyrone will dance around him all night,in and out peppering him with shots constantly

I hope im wrong though and Limond can use his experience and the crowd to his advantage, not to mention the fact that he'll probably get a shot at a world title providing he wins, even if Di Rocco beats Burns he might still get a shot if he beats Nurse,i thought Limond was excellent against Woodhouse but Curtis and Nurse are completely different fighters and as i said i feel Nurse will give Limond kittens

Surely Tyrone is Orthodox rather than southpaw

I think Limond could have done with a few more rounds before going into this fight, one round in two years is hardly ideal preparation for title fight against a younger, bigger, faster and more active champion.

As Nurse is no sort of puncher I can Limond taking a fairly one sided beating over the full 12.

Who's Chris and why would he beat me up, and why are you calling me Graham?

:TU: good points and Nurse is looking a very hard fighter to beat, he seems strong and is hitting harder than I remember seeing, some of the body work was exceptional.

Yeah he really did rip those body shots in from the opening bell on Saturday night.

For all Nurse's physical advantages being very rangey at the weight, I still think he can make life easier for himself. He switches off a little too often, if he can stay focused, then he can cause anyone problems on the domestic scene.
