Re: Oscar made Canelo put on the fishnet stockings
You guys can be so silly.
Why the hell should GBP go willy-nilly into some bout when it posseses the #1 PPV attraction in boxing?
I'll say it again---with Pac and Mayweather retired, Canelo IS boxing. Why does he need to bother with Prima donna Gigi who wants 50% of the purse and won't drop weight.
I recall Gigi saying a few times that he can fight anywhere from 154 to 168. But he blanches at the thought of meeting Canelo at the lower weight. The Russian speaks with forked tongue.
When "Mr. 150,000" actually agrees to realistically negotiate and not dictate terms as if HE'S the #1 star in boxing and not Canelo, then I'm certain the fight will come off.
Until then, let Golovkin take on stiffs for short money while Canelo rakes in millions against name opponents.
Gigi needs to learn that being a star doesn't hinge on just rolling up an unbeaten record against barely breathing fighters. When this primadonna finally comes down to earth then maybe GBP and Canelo will grace him with the shellacking the goon deserves.
Until then, Canelo has bigger fish to drown.

1. Canelo ISN'T boxing (and thankfully so)SenorPipino wrote:You guys can be so silly.

2. Neither GGG nor K2 ever said they want 50% of the purse. Loeffler actually said their priority is to make the fight without purse bid, where GGG would get 45%.
3. For Floyd who would be somewhere close to LMW limit in the day of the fight, coming down to 154 lbs would be reasonable. But why should GGG come down to 155 lbs to fight a guy, who will be weighing around 180 lbs in the fight?
4. GGG isn't Russian, he is Kazakh fighter with Korean, Russian and Kazakh roots.

The only Kazakh roots Golovkin has is where he was raised. His mom is Korean, dad is Russian, and the family spoke Russian, as most of Karaganda where he grew up.Boxing Writer wrote:1. Canelo ISN'T boxing (and thankfully so)SenorPipino wrote:You guys can be so silly.

Re: Oscar made Canelo put on the fishnet stockings
I know Box_Writer and Rocs, I've heard it a thousand times----Gigi is from the fabled land of Kazakhstan, not from Russia.
But most people don't know Kazakhstan from Kansas. It's right near Russia, so I consider him a Russian, just like his comrade Kovalev.
But you're wrong. Canelo IS boxing. It sure as hell ain't Gigi.
Just look at their PPV numbers (The ONE you can find for Gigi, that is) Hardly comparable.
Canelo does in the millions. Repeatedly.
And need I repeat that Golovkin is now referred to as "Mr. 150,000?" And many suspect that most of those numbers were accumulated from Canadian fans of Lemiuex.
And since Canelo has relinquished the worthless WBC title (Which Gigi eagerly snatched up. Some guys need to wear a glittering belt to make themselves shine a little brighter) he's no longer a middleweight. So it would make sense for the Russian to adhere to Canelo's wishes and fight at 155 if he ever wants to make real money.
Like I said, Gigi has previously remarked that he can fight as low as 154, so a 155 catch weight should be no obstacle.
Unless of course he insists that his poor English was misinterpreted when he made that comment.

Cowardnello can keep his money if he doesn't have balls to fight at his real weight. Golovkin already got enough and will earn a lot more without the Pollo's help. Gennady and his team are currently in Europe attending the final of European Soccer League, Formula 1 race in Monaco and stuff like that. He is an international star, while Canelo is just North American star.SenorPipino wrote:I know Box_Writer and Rocs, I've heard it a thousand times----Gigi is from the fabled land of Kazakhstan, not from Russia.

If canyellow is boxing, why was he stripped of the title by a Mexican body, canyellow isn't Mexican, he's mexicant, can't take a chance fighting someone his own size. Can't wait for his next PPV, I think his numbers will drop dramatically, has there been OFFICIAL numbers released for the khan fight yet or is it still just what fishnets is saying

At the end of the day Canelo is captain of the ship because he is the ship.
Oscar can only tell Canelo to do what Canelo wants to do.

Fair enough, Canelo is the Golden Boy in the GBP. But I don't understand how one loss will hurt Canelo, he is still a big fighter. Put a rematch clause in and fight GGG, if he loses, have a rematch, rematch will defo do just as much as the original.
