Yeah! You exaggerate and talk utter nonsense! That's what I believe about YOUR. [Take That and Smoke It, GUY!]Impractical Poster wrote:The business chose a toilet for a pool and it is in the process of flushing.
This, and the fact that a lot of young talent are heading the MMA route as a choice of combat sport rather than boxing. Well, in the U.S. anyhow. Whether other countries continue to follow this trend, I believe, depends on whether or not Zuffa sells the UFC. The reason the health of MMA is where it is today and continues to grow is because of Lorenzo and Dana. If they jump ship, who knows what is going to happen. But, if the growth of MMA continues in the same direction it's going, the talent pool in boxing will dwindle on a global scale.
I understand boxing fans don't like to hear this and don't accept it, but it's real.

Research the number of Golden Gloves participants in the US today and compare it to the number of participants 25 years ago and get back with me.allInmoderationAIM wrote:Yeah! "poor matchups dressed up as real tests...." like what? GGG vs Lomax? Hey!After it is over we know the result forever after. If Don Curry had overcome Honeyghan back when, would you be saying the same thing?? Or, Schmelling-Louis I? Tyson-Douglas? Holy-Tyson? Heck, wasn't Buchanan forecast to turn back the great Duran? Duran-DeJesus one? How about Bob Foster - Ahmada in Foster's final successful defense?Controversial wrote:too much money, too many protected fighters steered towards title shots without being really tested, few title eliminators between the true world class top contenders, too many weight divisions, too much politics, poor matchups dressed up as real tests....
The weight classes..you have to be specific. The JM, SM, JL, and so on you are against them? Not I.
The money really is..subject. What do you mean? Mayweather vs Pac?
MMA small time boxers make much better than your small time boxer, generally.
Did you know that when Ward took the Super-Six that he was averaging only $100,000.00 per fight??
Protected fighters? Give examples. What yah think of the heavyweight division right now? Come with your matches!
I've read it on BoxRec Forum before the true hold ups with the Sport. But, I think you are throwing everything and the kitchen sink without truly knowing.
What is your take on the WBC WBA & IBF?

I don't get into the amateurs in that sort of manner. I am about the professional side of the sport only.Impractical Poster wrote:Research the number of Golden Gloves participants in the US today and compare it to the number of participants 25 years ago and get back with me.allInmoderationAIM wrote:Yeah! UFC has far surpassed boxing as a global sport at this point. In the US, UFC is CRUSHING boxing. And the gap will only widen. And can you blame it? Every single fight that means something in the UFC - happens. This is the benefit of having one belt per division, one major network and one president and one matchmaker. You're told who you are fighting or you're not getting paid. It's not up to YOU who you fight. Not only do all the meaningful fights get made, but the sport is more violent and explosive - which gets casual eyeballs. Not dancing, sparring sessions for 36 minutes where someone is trying to win by never getting hit. Only purists can appreciate that. Casual fans want violence. They want Tyson. UFC gives them that fast food generation, instant gratification today's ADD world yearns for.

Yeah! No kidding! And......yeah! I will look at the chap for his/her accomplishment! But here we are talking the individual. Yup, I'll garner it. But..the manufacture of that field and on a wide scope, I'm not drawn to it. It disinterest me.Impractical Poster wrote:Where do you think the pros come from?allInmoderationAIM wrote:I don't get into the amateurs in that sort of manner. I hardly know that they even exist! When a boxer, like HOLLY IS THERE I'm interested. Otherwise, no!
Boxing has way greater history and tradition!
If you are right I don't even care! I see boxing as very healthy and I will work to make it even better!
