Makabu was a credible opponent and was obviously in the fight until being hurt. If you've seen him before you should know that offensively he's very capable (which he briefly showed tonight) but that he's fairly easy to hit and doesn't take the best shot.

Bellew managed to hurt him and didn't let him off the hook...that type of stuff can happen without the loser being a fraud.

Makubu looked poo though.

I don't know about that he decked Bellew hard in the first. All credit to Bellew for that, great performance.

What did you bet on? Bellew KO? Or Bellew win?
Bellew Ko/tKo £50 at 5/1 so I won £250. Can't complain. After that 1st round I was thinking oh shit ha.

He might have been involved in some boring fights. He might talk a lot of bull to generate interest. He may not be able to live with the Stevenson of the sport.

Whatever the reason you have for disliking him, it's still good to see his life's ambition and training pay off.

Oh fvck...Bellew is doing his post-fight interview and being simultaneously entertaining and unbearable. A Lebedev fight would certainly be interesting...

Whilst not being a huge fan of bellew in terms of the way he comes across a lot of the time. Seeing him get chinned/lose at Goodison would have been grim to watch

This may be the crate of beers and the bottle of JD talking, but I am genuinely happy for him.

I felt happy for Bellew from the KO up until the interview.

Now i'm back to hoping Marco Huck pastes his scouser face all over Goodison park.
