Whatever the reason you have for disliking him, it's still good to see his life's ambition and training pay off.
Absolutely. :TU:

He used to be pretty good on here to start with too, it's always worth remembering that. Maybe it's part of the act to get people to tune in or maybe it all went to his head but I've always thought he's probably a decent fella behind all his nonsense chat and a pretty sensational grandson!

Have to say, as much as people don't like him, Eddie has done amazingly well to take Bellew to this stage. From a fighters point of view it's been world class promoting!
I agree.... Bellew was very likable on here to start with. I remember posting that I thought he was a good prospect, and he seemed very excited that someone from Canada knew who he was!
He was far better than Paul "fatboy" smith.

My best memory of Smith was him getting testy with me because I suggested that I was leaning toward John Simpson beating his brother in their first fight.

He blocks tons of people on twitter aswell apparantly. I'm talking for things as slight as having a different opinion to him. Not even for giving him actual abuse of any kind

I remember saying to bellew on here that he was a bit flat footed and had slow feet. He disagreed but he never got aggressive or abusive in any way. He was actually good on here. Im not even sure what caused him to leave in the end.

Hearn will reach a new level of smugness now FairPlay to Bellew though. Most myself included thought he was going to be get smashed. Dug deep and achieved his dream. Credit to Dave Coldwell too.

He was generally friendly and easy to talk to on here, but I recall things changing after he lost to Clev. I think he was very frustrated with the result of that fight and didn't take well to some of the comments about it.

He still is a bit flat/slow-footed by the way :OhYes:

Yeah I thought he looked particular slow tonight to be honest lol. He definietly hit a lot harder at cruiserweight though I think.

Did Carl Froch just admit to 'intimate times' with Tony Bellew? :o

I think Mairis Breidis is Bellew's mandatory now. That won't be called for awhile now though I imagine. Breidis is a bit of a beast himself punching power wise but also is lacking a little in the boxing skills department. Crusader, if you see this- I'd be interested to hear your take on that potential fight?

He actually used the phrase fish eyes, that is gold, I genuinely lol'd there. I may have to like him forever for that, no matter what else he might ever say or do.

What a night. Up off the deck to win by KO in the 3rd. Gets the world title around his waist and within 5 minutes had laid into Fwank, called David Haye "the bitch from Bermondsey" and compared himself to Floyd Mayweather. Unreal stuff, fair play to him

Hope nobody discredits the win though. Makabu is a very good fighter. Has solid wins over Kucher and Mchunu as well as KO power. Slightly annoyed to hear Froch say that Cruiserweight isn't a "dangerous division". I'd say it's arguably the most dangerous in the sport, in terms of standard of champions, depth of challengers and serious punchers - Lebedev, Glowacki, Huck, Briedis, Dorticos, Usyk - the list goes on. Brilliant achievement by Tony, hope he can get a few big fights and cement a legacy in the division.
