It was a great win last night but after reading this I can't class Tony as a world champion he should be declared Interim Champion.

When Drozd was made champion in recess I was under the impression it was a bad injury and he may retire. So looking like the WBC champion next for Bellew. After last night I'd like him to pull this off and with Drozd under Ryabinsky they will have to travel impossible for Hearn to win a purse bid here.

Fair play to the mouthy masher, he put the hard yards in and he got got his reward.

Some good old adrenaline scraps of late with Crolla and now Boomer. Enjoyed them both.

I like the bit at the end of the 5th round I think it is (or 6th) in the Crolla fight when Halling almost blows his gasket and screams "It`s Crolla that`s keeping his shape". I`m no Halling fan but I was up at that and punching the air.

The win over Makabu put him in the Top 5. He's gonna have to get by the Glowacki's, Lebedev's and Huck's of the world to establish himself as The Man at Cruiserweight.

At cruiser, if:

Glowacki, who already has fine wins over Huck (the man with the biggest claim at being The Man) and Cunningham (the first to beat Huck, also the first to stop Huck until Glowacki), if he can get by the big Olympic talent Usyck, really has a formidable claim at being champ.

And if Lebedev sorts out the WBA mess vs Shumenov and Dorticos (who holed lesser versions of the WBA crown) - both coming off thrilling victories themselves - then the Russian's momentum will be hard to deny following the early KO of Ramirez.

Bellew has started well but must get by Drodz, who never lost the WBC title in the ring but due to injury. Work to do yet, but things looking good for Bellew.

I'm not 100% on Lebedev. He was superb stopping Alexeev and Maccarinelli. He probably beat Huck but looked one paced over the 12 rounds and failed to stop Huck, or even up the pace, after breaking his ribs. His face took a frightful beating vs a juiced up GuillermoJones in a gruelling and painful fight. Then the freak show fights with aged Toney and Jones...early KO of Ramirez impressed but I don't think he's so great in a long fight especially if someone can stand up to him...

Lebedev went the distance with Kalenga and widened his advantage in the late rounds. He was also throwing a lot of heavy punches deep into the Jones fight, but the punishment he took accumulated and he eventually wilted. I do think he should've upped the tempo against Huck though, and his failure to do so may have costed him what should've been a win anyway.

He may not be someone who comes on particularly strong as fights progress, but he doesn't really strike me as someone who has a problem going rounds, at least not any more than Bellew does.

I just think Lebedev is a bit of a lump, a plodder albeit with early dynamite in his fists and very brave (absolutely, he was slinging some big shots all the way versus Jones).

I also think he may be damaged by the Guillermo Jones fight and his career stalled badly when Jones tested positive a second time. If it comes down to it, how many more times can he go to the well?

Meanwhile, I see Glowacki getting better each fight and being especially strong late on in that great fight with Huck.

Think cruiser definitely comes down to these two. Though they're too busy defending their titles, both should be tested so let's see how each responds - and who is left.

Interesting that Bellew once was scheduled to face Glowacki. Lucky escape, possibly, that one.

To me Lebedev looks more polished since losing to Jones and hooking up with Roach, and maybe he took that bout as a sign that he needed to do more boxing and couldn't just rely on blowing everyone out. One might think that he'd be on the way down following such a damaging fight, but I haven't seen indications of that.

Let's also not forget that Glowacki was seriously hurt by Huck (who couldn't budge Lebedev) and was clearly behind when he pulled out the stoppage. Him being able to score a stoppage in the 11th could make it seem like he does well late on, but he visibly faded over the second half of the fight and for the most part showed little energy, which is partially what made the stoppage so dramatic. I also thought he was rocked a few times by light-hitting Cunningham, I gave the American nearly every round in which he wasn't on the canvas, and Glowacki looked particularly shaky and tired over the last few, though he again showed some power to turn the tide when things were getting tough. KG's ability to hurt his opponents was the difference in these fights to me, but would he be able to hurt Lebedev in the same way? I'd love to find out.

Great win for Bellew and another title for the Brits. be good to see him definitely getting a big pay day next but I still think there a few guys above him at CW. Would fancy Lebdev, Usyk & Drozd in Russia to beat Bellew ( Lebedev clearly). Still not convinced on Glowacki yet, I know he beat Huck but both him and Huck would be 50/50 fights against Bellew as well would be Dorticos, Bredis and Gassiev. The CW division is brilliant.

Bellew has already proven his level. Now he's had one win against a solid but unspectacular guy who was there to be hit; don't think he can be compared with Lebedev. There are 5 guys in the division who would beat Bellew comfortably.
