How do you know the fight could have been made easily? At what point did Mayweathers people actually sit down with Hatton or Warren and say 'Right here's the deal we want to make, here is what we want, let's make the fight...answer....never.

Mayweather v Judah is going to BOMB on PPV, and they are going to lose money on overpaying Floyd for this one. The Floyd, if he wins, is going to be running around licking Oscar's bollocks desperately trying to get a big money fight he knows he can win.

If that happens and he wins, he will make such outrageous demands to fight ANYONE who is a threat, that the big fights won't come.

I only count Hattons fights post Tszyu when comparing because those are the only fights where he has stepped up to world class and world title level and using that comparison when comparing resumes Hatton has beaten Tszyu to become the man at 140 and unified 2 titles in the division and with his next fight is looking to become the man at 147 and all this in less than a year while he is also a year youngher than Floyd. To achieve all that in a year is an impressive achievement that can not be taken away although I'm sure you'll argue against it somehow. It doesn't matter if he said "200X is my year" because we all know that this year is his year.

Meanwhile around the same time period that Hatton has had his greatest achievements Floyd moved up in weight and proceeded to beat up on opponents that Hatton would of been criticised for taking, he then became champion by beating up on the weakest champion in the division at the time and showed the high regard he held for the belt by not even defending it and proclaiming himself the man at 140 before moving up which was a bunch of crap. Then at 147 he beat up on the highly criticised opponent choice in Sharmba Mitchell who was shot and took a beating. He now has plans to fight Judah who is coming off the back of a horrible loss and is saying that the winner of that fight will be the man at 147 which is false because like it or not Baldomir is the man at 147 at this moment in time. After Judah he then plans to go after DLH who's best years are far behind him, out of his last 3 DLH has lost 2 and the fight he won against Sturm many argued he lost.

The point is, both Hatton and Mayweather are guilty of suspect matchmaking in the past as is nearly every fighter active today. The only way a debate like this would be settled is for both men to fight each other which I think will happen if you think about it.

Who has Mayweather got left to fight for a big pay day after DLH? No one, not unless he wants to take another ridiculous jump up in weight. Hatton will probably fight and beat Baldomir which takes away another opponent option for Floyd and if Floyd sticks around at 147 or moves back down to 140 then Hatton will still be the man and with the pressure of TV companies and no other huge pay days around and this being a fight nearly everyone wants to see I expect to see it happen by late 2007 at the latest.

In one year he fought Sosa (then undefeated), Nunn (next Sugar Ray Leonard), Reggie Johnson (a very tough fight) and McCallum (fight of that year). He also beat Iran, Jirov (how hyped was he?) and recently Holyfield at a hugely inflated weight. Floyd is great but as much as I love Gatti his series with Ward was not Barrera - Morales, they are not two great fighters and Gatti is not a great fighter. Zab is not good enough either, it is a so-what? fight, look what Tszyu did to him and this other chap Baldomir(?).

How will Floyd get the best resume? Beat Hatton and Cotto, all three of them need one another to define one another. Kostya was a legend and Hatton beat him fairly, he made him old in there.

He defended his title twice against McCallum (nobody else wanted to fface McCallum), and toughnut Barklay who was coming off a good streak. His super middleweight reign was less impressive, but he did face a young Charles Williams and of course RJJ.

The wilderness years follow, between 1994 and 1997, Toney's biggest fights are with the refrigerator, and he loses to opponents he should be dealing with easily, he takes a year out in 1998, and between 1999 and the present beats jason robinson to get a crack at Jirov, beats Jirov, long regarded as next to unbeatable at cruiserweight, destroys holyfield in a manner nobody else was ever able to do, and beats Ruiz (no mean feat for any heavyweight) with ease.

If you only count his fights post tszyu (which is ridiculous) then how can you criticise Floyd fighting Gatti? Hatton fought Maussa for a title. Floyd fought Gatti for a title. There isn't much between Maussa and Gatti mate. So Hatton deserves CRITICISM for his fight post Tszyu according to your logic (since you make such a big point about Floyd fighting Gatti)

That Maussa fight is actually a PLUS for Hatton because he picked up a belt, while Floyds fight against gatti is actually a MINUS even though he ALSO PICKED UP A BELT and Gatti is BETTER than Maussa (although there isn't much betweem I conceed).

Hattons suspect matchmaking isn't in the same sentence as Floyds. 39 fights and fighting the likes of Stewart and Oliviera as a "step up". Floyd was winning WORLD TITLES (WBUseless doesn't count) in his 18th fight mate. Hatton was fighting Aldo Rios/Steven Smith/Oliviera etc in his 30 something fights. no contest on the matchmaking, Hattons is a disgrace compared to Floyd. Corrales vs Tszyu? Chavez vs Rios? No, hang on for a second. YOU (and others) are criticising Floyds competition. I am pointing out that Hatton has fought over 35 bums in his career before even fighting for a title (something Floyd did in his 18th fight). So my point it, don't criticise Floyds competition and then turn around and defend Hatton because his bum collection is FAR GREATER than Floyds so essentially I am pointing out that when you criticise Floyd, you are in effect also criticising Hatton EVEN MORE because his career is worse. No, I am just removing Floyd from criticism from hatton fans because to criticism Floyds opposition would mean also critising Hattons even more. And my point about Mayweather fighting Gatti was not that he fought him to collect a title it was that he picked the weakest champion to claim a title. Hatton beat the strongest champion to claim a title and then unified against a weaker one.

Hatton beat Tszyu and unified against Maussa. Maussa is no better than Gatti. Floyd has beaten an itenary of strong fighters in the past. Corrales, Castillo, Chavez, I could go on. Corley is actually BETTER than anyone Hatton has faced with the exception of ONE FIGHT, and would have a good chance vs that Tszyu. So your whole argument and basis for criticising Floyd is because Hatton fought Tszyu and Floyd didn't. Floyd came up from 130, beating a host of class A fighters and then beat Corley and Gatti.

These "human punch bags" are what Hatton feasted on pre and post Tszyu. If Gatti is a human punch bag and Floyd gets criticised for fighting him, Hatton MUST ALSO GET CRITICISED FOR FIGHTING MAUSSA since Gatti is NO WORSE than him.

These "fighters coming off a loss" are what Hatton FEASTED ON for 35+ fights.

You can't criticise Floyd for doing something that you perceive he did, when Hatton did EXACTLY THE SAME THING FOR YEARS.

You've been using Floyd to put down Hatton which is why people are picking holes in Floyd, not because they feel like it but because you are forcing comparisons in a way that is biased against Hatton.

No one said Maussa was better than Gatti. My point was that Mayweather beat up on a helpless Gatti and proclaimed himself the man in the division and didn't even stick around to defend his title when beating Gatti did not make you the man beating Tzsyu did and beating Baldomir at 147 would, not Judah. The Maussa fight wasn't ideal but considering that the Mayweather fight was a no go at the time and pretty much anyone else of name stature was tied up at the time, it was a good keeping busy fight while helping to unify division at the same time. He also did a better job on Maussa than Cotto did.

I also think you heavily over rate Corley. All of Corleys wins came against bums worse than what Hatton fought and the 3 times he stepped up against Judah, Mayweather and Cotto he got beat and Cotto stopped him in 5 while Floyd was taken the distance by him. The Tszyu Hatton fought would of beaten Corley handily and most likely stopped him, it would be an insult to such a great fighter to say otherwise, you under estimate Tszyu as much as you over estimate Corley based on Hatton beating him.

As far as you quoting my previous comments in the thread, they still hold up. If Hatton beats Baldomir in his next fight he will of been the man in 2 different divisions FACT. Mayweather was not the man at 140 even though he wanted everyone to believe and by beating up on Judah he won't be the man at 147, he backed out of a fight with Baldomir claiming Baldomir was demanding millions, how is a guy who made 150k in his last fight going to be demanding millions? This "millions" barrier doesn't seem to stop Hatton negotiating with him, Floyd would be fighting Judah now even if he got knocked out in the first round.

Hatton has only fought 2 fighters coming off the back of a loss in his last 20 fights. Floyd will move to 3 in his last 20 with his fight against Judah since you decided to argue that point.

As far as who would have a better chance against Hatton or Mayweather, it's not the point. If you want to be the champ of a division like Floyd keeps proclaiming he is then you beat the champ, you don't beat the man who got beat by the champ.
