Hmmm ?????

He's just as good and exciting and as big a puncher as him. He has a better resume than him.Yet GGG seems to be a lot more well known amongst Casuals than Kovalev. Kovalev is just like GGG .. a future ATG.
It's hilarious that bums like Broner and Khan are way more well known than the Krusher.

The difference is self promotion and being linked to Floyd. The only reason Khan and Broner are so well known is based on them having big mouths and being linked to Floyd. If GGG hadn't been linked to Floyd he wouldn't have gotten the media push either.

Golovkin was better known and liked than Kovalev before they started talking about Floyd. I think Golovkin has been promoted better, his promoter and his trainer have been more open to the media, and media of course likes that. Also, Kovalev hasn't been ducked as blatantly as Golovkin. HOFer Hopkins fought him and surrendered two belts. Of course Stevenson jumped networks to avoid Kovalev, but then when he was ready, Kovalev couldn't fight him due to the network issue.

Not sure why the Ward fight will make Kovalev a 'star' to casual fans.

I would say that Kovalev is a racist and dumb moth***er. There is no one who could relate to him because he is selfish and idiot. If i had money to promote a guy i ll choise GGG a hundred time before Kovalev.

Precisely, most casual fans have no idea who Ward is, and will have little or no idea after the fight who he is either.

Neither Crusher or GGG are stars yet.

GGG has done a lot more interviews and coverage with well known media outlets.

Kovalev would need a superfight or a increased media presence to get back level with GGG.

GGG English is very good and his polite manner has always sat well with boxing fans and the media.

Kovalev's English is better and he is funnier than GGG "good boy" "drama" show" Golovkin though props to GGG his English is improving, which I totally respect. I think English interviews scare GGG more than the fights.

I am more a fan of Kovalev than GGG and think if the Ward PPV goes of it will do way more buys than GGG vs Lemiux.

PS I don't meet many people who know who GGG or Kovalev are but meet many who know who have heard of Floyd Mayweather, Canelo and Broner.

I wouldn't call Kovalev 'dumb', but definitely not as media savvy.
Nice guy GGG is easier to sell, plus he hasn't killed anyone.
I can't see Apple doing a Kovalev ad anytime soon.

Kovalev isnt media friendly like Ggg. Ggg is very camera friendly and fans and the media love that.

K2 promotes GGG much better than Duva promotes Kovalev.
