I don't know what Pele is up to nowadays, but i did find this interesting article about his kickboxing fight with Vitali Klitschko.

Brilliant article Topper.

I remember Colin Kenna talking about his kick boxing days saying that Pele Reid destroyed him twice in the kick boxing ring. When his manager Jack talked about opponents when he started boxing, he prayed it was anyone but Pele Reid!

Still can't belive they put Reid in with Norris coming off his Francis defeat, Pele seemed to lose his confidence after that.

That was madness from the Ingles retrospectively...but what it does show is the massive confidence they had in Pele's abilities.

I saw him as a kick boxer before his pro career and I honestly thought he had all the physical tool to be a world heavyweight champ..

If he had better whiskers, and had turned to boxing earlier ....who knows

If a british prospect gets hammered in 3 rds by a confirmed journeyman in a british title fight, throwing him in with an experienced world class ex-champ in his comeback fight obvioulsy means they are feeding him to Orlin Norris in order to get rid of him. "Throwing Pele to the wolves" as ian darke correctly put it.

The Ingle camp obviously wanted shut of him. Judging by his horrific loss next time out to Jacklord Jacobs (must be seen to be believed) they recognised he couldnt fight & wanted out.

According to Ingle Pele begged him for the Norris match as he wanted to prove to everyone he could fight and wanted to prove to everyone that the hype he had recieved was justified.

I dont believe much that comes out of Ingles mouth because he is all spin & bullshit.

Remember when Pele boxed Michael Murray & Murray injured his arm before a blow was landed?

In the interview Ingle was saying it was "a 'tremendous right hook' we had been working on in the gym, knocked his arm out of its socket, incredible" he was saying this with a straight face not tongue in cheek.

I remember that 9 seconds of thrills very well. I also recall a SKY feature on the Ingle camp were he got all his fighters, one by one to stand in the centre of the ring and sing to the rest of the gym.

I seem to recall a very nevous Pele singing very badly.

yeah lewis didn't knock vit out....he only managed to split his face in two

i'd rather get knocked out to be honest...

and don't any yanks come on here and say vit was winning on the cards.....FCUK OFF,CARDS ONLY COUNT IF IT GOES 12 ROUNDS,UNTIL THEN THE NAME OF THE GAME IS TO STOP YOUR OPPONENT....

and of course i know it can go to the cards after 4/6 rounds or what ever it is...but hey
