we live in an age where you're considered good enough to be a boxer if you have lots of muscle and tattoos.
a strange criteria

No he is shi.t reminds of that Jorge Kahwagi.
I thought the same thing. Maybe greased a few palms to be put on the televised section of the show.
The Bellew comment stumped me when I heard it on the tv, but I think he was referring to his Opponent (who's first name is Bela).

This basketball stuff is a bit a bit peculiar too. He only looked about 5'11, 6ft max. No way he's playing a decent level of basketball over there
Re: Joe Fournier - a few questions
That was the funniest part of it all. "So who should he look for next on the domestic scene? Tony bellew"handsofstone wrote:None of you guys know talent, thats your problem, former European champ Darren Baker liked him and i reckon he smashes that Rory Bellew chap

Maybe he worse stilts and that's how he got injured.freddydoesdallas wrote:This basketball stuff is a bit a bit peculiar too. He only looked about 5'11, 6ft max. No way he's playing a decent level of basketball over there
Re: Joe Fournier - a few questions
I don't think he was because he said who should he look to fight next on the domestic scene and then he said Bellew haha.rubberneck wrote:Rexob wrote:Stuarty30 wrote:I've never heard of this guy? Is he any good?

Re: Joe Fournier - a few questions
Fournier should start turning up at Bellew's press conferences and start calling him out. The public demands it.

My mistake...I must've been giving the bloke the benefit of the doubt, as it was such a stupid thing to say. Unless he was being sarcastic...but I doubt it. It speaks volumes that they put him in with such an inept boxer. A Jody Meikle or Mitch Mitchell type fighter would've wiped the floor with him. Mind you, look at the level of opposition in the headline and co-headline event....

As a side note and another link to his boxing credentials...
He used to own a nightclub in London with our very own Barry Jones..

Re: Joe Fournier - a few questions
Has he been sparring with Haye? Similar stance and punch delivery.
Re: Joe Fournier - a few questions
they got their priorities wrong, they were prepared to show all of fourniers fight but only showed the last 4 rounds of the middleweight english title fight which the presenter said had been a war and then joins it in round 8
i get they are trying to appeal to a younger audience but dont forget about the boxing

I've got a feeling Fourniers opponent might of got a good payday from last night if you know what I mean
Must be a dream come true for the lad. Gone from a white collar show to O2 on terrestrial tv with the whole tv team cumming in their pants over you, talking about potential world title level opponents.
I've got a feeling he won't ever be deleting that from his sky plus. Good on him. I'm proper jealous of the fella.

Ahh, the mysterious 'public' that have demanded that David Haye fights a mouthy 44 year old & previously demanded that he defended his HW trinket against the next to useless Audley Harrison.
Re: Joe Fournier - a few questions
That'll be the one. "The public" clearly has a lot to answer for!
Re: Joe Fournier - a few questions
I heard he's Bellew's mandatory!

Why wasn't 'The Duke' on the ring apron at Goodison last night?Furey wrote:I heard he's Bellew's mandatory!

I’m new to this story....looks like a little digging is going to turn up some gems. Yes......it certainly sounds like a low-point if true...and there’s been a few of them.

They could put in on the undercard of Haye Day IV: David Haye v Audley Harrison 2: Back by public demand!
Re: Joe Fournier - a few questions
I heard Fournier bought 100,000 pounds worth of tickets and gave them away for the chance to box on a David Haye card - no kidding!
