DeMori may have a better chin, but that's about it. Price is definitely a class or two above him.
As soon as Price fights Nagy Aguilera for example, there's a good chance he loses.
I can only presume you've not seen many David Price fights.
He has very good boxing ability and genuine knockout power.
His only downfall is his chin. If he doesn't get knocked out he probably wins.

What about the guy Hughie Fury just beat: Kassi?

He beat both Arreola and Joshua's next opponent Brezeale to all eyes except the judges.

If Price could stop him early that would be a real statement as he's an awkward customer.

Aguilera has a puncher's chance against Price, certainly, as does anyone with decent power.

Price has very good offensive boxing ability and power, but he is defensively limited, can't fight backing up and gives up distance far too easily.

Well, whatever the excuses are, he's not any good, so there's no reason to put him in front of Duhaupas, Szpilka, or Whyte if he wants to win a match.
That's why I suggest guys like Mark de Mori, if Price can win against him, it's a nice name on his resume, everyone above rank 60 ish is a risk for him.

I agree that Price would be better off taking on some lighter competition first, before stepping up again. I think he'd have a good chance against Szpilka, who is also chinny and much smaller than him, but it's definitely a risky fight because Szpilka has decent speed and pop. I haven't really seen enough of Duhaupas to make a call, but it's definitely a dangerous fight, considering he KOd Helenius who is more durable than Price. I think Price is a better technical boxer than Whyte, but ultimately the combination of Whyte's power, chin and aggression would be too much for Price to handle and I'd be shocked if he weren't stopped in that fight.
