A tumultuous and extraordinary life that touched so many people. And yet, amazingly he managed to transcend that life and become a true icon.

R.I.P Champ..
I couldn't say it better.

Mike Tyson's tribute is equally fitting "God has called for his Champion"

I don't usually care all that much about celebrity deaths but I feel like someone I know has just passed. Strange feeling.

I'm not usually one for role models but if i had to be anyone I would be a young Ali. Not perfect by any means but i've never seen anyone like him. He had the courage and conviction of a famous world leader like Mandela, with humour of a comedian and all the bravado and media skills of a hollywood actor, rolled into the skill of the greatest HW boxer of all time.

We'll never see the likes of Ali again, farewell champ. :salut:

Genuinely upset by this.

No doubt there'll be threads about Ali and personal experiences, best fights, controversies, his place in the Hall, and I can't wait to read and add my own.

For now tho'.. RIP The Greatest -Thanks for everything.

I was thinking that.

It's probably hyperbole on my part, but I think he does warrant a state funeral.

Ali was that big & like you have said, he belonged to the world, not just the USA.

RIP Champ.

You are a inspiration for everyone in the world.
You touched so many life's.
Hope you and Smokin Joe are lacing them up and having the 4th fight in the Sky.

There will be many more heavyweight champions and sporting greats but there will never be another Muhammad Ali.

Ali checked out beautifully

Just a little dash of muss

And a whole lotta fuss

As The People, they cried, The Greatest has died

Yet Valhalla awaits him still

Jack Dempsey and Joe Louis are a chompin’

Let’s give him a good ol’ fashion stompin’

Gonna be some all time fights for the ages

To wag tart tongues of the all knowing sages

who always gather round for yet another round

Bottoms Up~~~R.I.P. Ali

"everbody stop talking now!"

*silence

Thanks for your great Fights you left....in 100..200...300...and so on years...people never forget what you have done in boxing.

Some say he had a big mouth...of course he had, in my opinion he was very charismatic, he knows to entertain.

Liston Time: I was too young, but my parents told me, how they sit all in front of television deep in night (in Germany) watch your fights.

The Greatest left..but your Fights we will never forget.

Terrible, terrible news. I have been on a real downer all day.
Muhammad Ali was the sole reason I got into boxing. There will never be another like him.
Everything has been said, I don't know what else to say.

Not only do I believe he could have done well in other sports, he could have found much success as a standup comic or great salesman.
