Re: Tyson Fury vs. Wladimir Klitschko II
Imagine Klitschko winning this, what would/should happen after that?!
Re: Tyson Fury vs. Wladimir Klitschko II
Klitschko will be favored again in the rematch. Albeit barely this time.

I'm not sure, but I think he can duck Fury for quite a while at least after thatHorse wrote:Trilogy.asdfjkl wrote:Imagine Klitschko winning this, what would/should happen after that?!

Re: Tyson Fury vs. Wladimir Klitschko II
I'm with Tyson on this one.
Mike Tyson that is, who said a day or two ago that he believes that Wladimir's head wasn't on straight leading up to his bout with Fury in November & that a focused Klitschko should be favored to regain the title.
I believe there's a lot to be said for Mike's assessment. He's spot on IMO.
Let's face it, Outside of the Pulev fight, Klitschko hasn't really looked all that sharp since Manny Steward passed. He's looked like he's been more or less going through the motions. And he appeared particularly flat & uninspired against Jennings. Looking like a guy that was definitely looking forward to retirement in the near future.
Combine that with his having just become a new, first time father & having to deal with his wife's postpartum issues ( which are no joke, believe me as I went through them with my ex ) while in training camp. All of which makes for a very distracted fighter.
A fighter whom I'm fairly certain underestimated Fury & paid for it.
The rematch?
If Klitschko is REALLY truly focused on the task at hand & not just going through with it because it was/is expected of him & he couldn't turn down the mega million$ to add to his retirement nest egg, then he may just surprise many by knocking Fury out.
But, in order to do so Wlad will have to dedicate himself in training & become the sort of aggressive hungry for destruction type of fighter that he was BEFORE he hooked up with Manny Steward. He's got to want to actually HURT Fury & not just outbox him.
If he gets back in there with Fury as the gentleman champion looking to use some strategy while throwing enough blows for a W12 to win back the belts... forget about it.
If he goes in there to take Fury's head off... He will.

Good post, SweetV. I agree. I wonder if that tiny little wife, or girlfriend, of his has messed up his head.

Re: Tyson Fury vs. Wladimir Klitschko II
Well, I'm not any sort of a gossip hound nor do I get into the whole celeb scene to any great deal, but I certainly haven't heard anything negative regarding Hayden or her relationship with her husband. I believe it was just the stress of a long, difficult pregnancy & the postpartum issues that distracted Wlad in his focus & preparations for Fury.x2x wrote:Good post, SweetV. I agree. Whom, I think, Wlad & his camp may have considered much less of a difficult assignment than he turned out to be.
I think perhaps they thought that Fury would be gone the first time that Klitschko landed a significant blow & unfortunately, due to Fury's massive stature, his extremely awkward style & his simply being a better boxer than they thought he was, Wlad never really landed said blow. Nor many blows of ANY sort really.
But, I think that will change come 7 May.

Funny that? here's what Mike said about Tyson Fury a few days ago.
“The heavyweight champion of the world got my name. He is the best heavyweight champion of the world since myself.
“He is the man, I don’t care what anybody says.”
Re: Tyson Fury vs. Wladimir Klitschko II
Mike picked Manny over Floyd too, so bet the house
Re: Tyson Fury vs. Wladimir Klitschko II
Mike Tyson doesn't know a rock from his ass in the current boxing landscape.

Surprised to see it going back to Germany, I thought it would land in the UK.
Is that official ?

SweetV - Leaving aside my idle speculations on Wlad's personal problems or non-problems, as the case may be, he has been getting lazy and formulaic. Compare his thrilling earlier fights with his recent ones. Something in between would be nice. And again I agree with everything you said.
Evander: "Surprised to see it going back to Germany, I thought it would land in the UK.
The third one will be in the UK.

Re: Tyson Fury vs. Wladimir Klitschko II
Mike Tyson cannot of meant that, he must have been joking there is no way he rates Fury ahead of Lewis or Holyfield. He knows too much about boxing to say this, unless he was being encouraged to talk it up because Mike has to know that Fury is nowhere near the best heavyweight since him.
Re: Tyson Fury vs. Wladimir Klitschko II
I read Wlad's girlfriend is still having problems. That's what Wlad didn't look right in the press conferences a month or so ago.

Sad. Don't know why he chose her in the first place. There were many much more beautiful and intelligent women available for him.Exoddus wrote:I read Wlad's girlfriend is still having problems. That's what Wlad didn't look right in the press conferences a month or so ago.

I wish there were two more options to choose from:
Who doesn't give a shiit?
Who wants both guys to lose somehow?
I would have voted twice if i could.
