Maybe we could look at alternatives for the word Bum
Derriere has a certain panache to it.

Re: fwanks ridiculous world title challengers
I know its a little off topic but I have emailed Queensbury about VIP tickets for me and my bird for his last 2 shows and I didn't even get a reply..... That's poor poor form.
Missed out on decent money , how many times is this happening ? Next thing he is giving away tickets to his shows because they haven't sold many tickets.
On the flip side, if you contact Matchroom you get a response in no time

Re: fwanks ridiculous world title challengers
I don't personally use the word "bum" to describe fighters, but as its been part of the boxing lexicon for at least 80 years, particularly in New York (check out Joe Louis opponents), I'm not sure it's one to get overly self righteous about.

Willie Monroe ready and willing to come over and face either Smith or Saunders, W@rren needs to make it happen - http://www.BS.com/willie-monro ... rs--105641
Re: fwanks ridiculous world title challengers
Monroe just handily beat John Thompson, who is arguably Smith's best opponent, and I think he could give Liam some issues.

He definitely outboxes Smith, just as Thompson did at the beginning, its just can Monroe avoid being walked down and stopped??crusader wrote:Monroe just handily beat John Thompson, who is arguably Smith's best opponent, and I think he could give Liam some issues.
Liam despite his weak resume is an effective fighter

Monroe would be an interesting opponent that would draw fans and draw viewers.crusader wrote:Monroe just handily beat John Thompson, who is arguably Smith's best opponent, and I think he could give Liam some issues.
Makes sense for all involved...
Re: fwanks ridiculous world title challengers
Monroe is a better boxer than Thompson and less fragile IMO. He can be negative at times and I'd still go for Liam to get into gear eventually and outwork him, but I don't think LS's proven yet that he's on another level.

herbie hide vs damon reed will always stand alone as the worst w*rren world title match up.Autobarn wrote:Is that Calzaghe-Pudwill and Maccarinelli-Lamontagne?
that was beyond shameful.
reed was just a clubfighter.
Re: fwanks ridiculous world title challengers
Would be a good fight, I'd back Liam to catch up to him late and either force a stoppage or a 116-112 type win on the cards. Not comparing Liam to GGG in any way at all but seeing Monroe quit against Golovkin makes me question if he'd deal with a solid pressure fighter for 12 rounds. Liam wouldn't budge all night and I'm not 100% sure that Monroe has it in him to deal with that. Again, not comparing Smith to GGG who is a freak of nature, but that showed a mental weakness in Monroe imo.crusader wrote:Monroe just handily beat John Thompson, who is arguably Smith's best opponent, and I think he could give Liam some issues.
