Show some fecking respect man, this is a human beings life that has ended.
RIP Kimbo. Enjoyed the youtube stuff but did not really see much of the other stuff. Street fighting legend who all the average guys down the pub have heard of.

It's hardly going to be the lead on the BBC 10 O'Clock News is it.
However, it is on their website. And in every other reputable news source that consider it worthy of mention.

Re: Kimbo slice has died!
I saw this was confirmed news yesterday, it was hardly in doubt!
I wonder if it was PED related, he did have a suspiciously bulked up look, and 42 is no age at all for someone who is fit and healthy to go like that, though of course it does happen.
No idea what he was like as a man, and wasn't really much of a fighter relatively speaking, not going to say I'm sad, bad for his family and kids obviously.

He of course failed a test after his last fight so did take gear. Not sure if related and although some would argue the immediate aftermath is not the time to discuss it, I would argue it is the best time as it could serve as a sharp lesson to other people when it is fresh. If one person stops taking gear after getting scared from this, then that is good in my book

I agree. You've got to ask questions when someone so young, who has been training hard in the gym for several years died of cardiac arrest.tobyh5 wrote:jamesmcdonnell wrote:

I'm 45, not in amazing shape, smoke, drink and get caned, and I'm still up and about, so something somewhere seems a little amiss if a big strong looking bloke like Kimbo is dead 3 years younger than me.
I remember Isaac hayes dying a few years back, he was in pretty amazing looking shape for someone of his age when he keeled over on the treadmill, but he was 66. Isaac was a health nut apparently, and probably pushed himself a bit too hard.
Anyway, It remains an unknown, if it was caused by that, then I hope it is revealed to put others off following that route.

It may turn out that he had a defect of some kind. I can't imagine juicing does you many favours though. I'm no expert by any means but I always get the impression that those saying juicing doesn't do you any long term harm are juicers themselves and are looking to convince themselves more than anyone else, that it carries little to no risk. It seems absolutely rife thesedays.

Didn't know much about him really but did see various interviews and training vids etc
He seemed a nice enough fella, gentle almost and also pretty keen to learn.

Yes. Arnie had an op a few years back for a 'congenital heart defect' though word was among bodybuilding folk that it was a heart problem induced by anabolic steroid use.lillywhite14 wrote:It may turn out that he had a defect of some kind. Re: Kimbo slice has died!
i cant remember where i saw it, possibly on youtube interview, but i believe he did suffer with asthma?
Re: Kimbo slice has died!
Like most things in life peoples bodies react differently to substances!
The amount of gear he was on might not necessarily have been a lot, other people taking the same may live to be old and healthy! Plenty of guys from Arnies era still alive and they are in there 70s and 80s!
the HGH / steroid combo plus the social drugs seems to be the real lethal combo!
Anyway I digress, early 40s is no age really! The guy obviously started his career late so wasn't going to have the moves of a guy who had been in the gym since they were 8 years old, but he had heart and showed bravery like all fighters do when they step into the cage/ring/street!

Your totally wrong knockout....totally wrong.
Hgh and steroids are the not the lethal combo
The lethal combo is prescription painkillers and alcohol and steroids.
In all the wrestler cases it was the painkillers that were the greater part

God came for his champion.
Ok, ok, relax Toby, thats tongue and cheek. Sad to see the big fella go out like this, as already noted if its steroid abuse thats done it, it needs to be brought to light so others can heed the warning.

I'm pretty sure steroids hgh and social drugs aren't a walk in the proverbial park of health.

Well opioid and synthetic opiates are rife in the U.S they are widely available, they also react very badly with alcohol.Judah Ben Fur wrote:Your totally wrong knockout....totally wrong.

However certain PED's can cause enlargement of the heart and other heart related conditions.
HGH in particular is problematic as it's side effects are little understood as until recently it was only being used as a therapeutic medicine for those with very low testosterone levels and people with congenital conditions.
There's some evidence it causes enlargement of the heart muscle, and it is absolutely rife in sport.
Re: Kimbo slice has died!
Someone else pointed out that steroids , hav'nt been around long enough for there long term use to be studied , I agree with that .Ok before some jump on the bandwagon , me mate done them 30 years ago , thats not what he meant and me neither .. The poster pointed out that 30 odd years ago it only seemed to be musclebound body builders .
Its true . when i worked on doors , all the guys i worked with were big small and in between , but i never recall working with anyone who was juicing , that was the 70's to early 80's ,, now the gyms are full off young ones who are on it ,, My youngest son and his wife are gym junkies they tell me most of the young ones are in to it , I think most just dabble because there too lazy to do the work so want to get the body by cheating , but the long term users , well time will tell .
Personally .i just cannot understand why , anyone would take that shit to look good , and then when they pick up a girlie , there full of zits ,, got a pair of tits and there dicks shrank , sort of defeats the object has far has i'm concerned

I think that modern juicing regimes mean that people can avoid those side effects.coneye wrote:Someone else pointed out that steroids , hav'nt been around long enough for there long term use to be studied , I agree with that .Ok before some jump on the bandwagon , me mate done them 30 years ago , thats not what he meant and me neither .. However, putting stuff like that in your body seems very risky.
I've been investigating HGH, which seems, thus far, to be relatively free of side effects if used therapeutically.
As we age, testosterone levels drop, leading to all kinds of health problems, which HGH seems to solve, however, it's not available as a therapy unless you have many thousands of pounds to spend - unlike HRT which you can get on the NHS. I'm seriously considering paying for it as getting old sucks balls.

HMM don't wanan speak illof the dead but not a lot of knowledge bout Kimbo the man here, stongly affiliated with Reality Kings seedy little set up, porn and all that exploitation that goes with that?
strong rumours back in the day he was in the ghetto he was the man, so theres lots that come with that also. work it out.
anfd people go off the rail at Joshua for selling a bit of weed when he was in his teens.
double standards but still RIP I guess.
I wont shed any tears however.
