Brezale & Arolo should not be near the best

Post by Chepppaaa »

a shame both will get in the ring with wilder and josh, they have 0 business. arolo has his place in taco bell and brezale is just a c level heavyweight who could become a b level heavyweight.

now would be the perfect point to let wilder and josh fight each other, and if one loses, than a rematch or maybe triology, this would be 1-3 great fights instead of 2 quick 1 rd kos

Your spelling is hysterical. No criticism, I pronounced his name Arillio for about 2 years.

At least Breazeale is undefeated, so the Joshua-Breazeale match isn't as annoying as Wilder-Arreola who is something like 1-3-1 of recent.

At this point Arreola or whatever we want to call him is just a tough guy who likes to eat. He always lacked motivation. He quit boxing after a good amateur career. Nothing against him, he provided me a lot of entertaining fights, but Wilder could have picked someone better. As I've said 1,000 times, it's better than no one.

Too bad boxing is so financially mismanaged. Too bad someone couldn't have come up with multi-millions for Wilder to fight a Pulev or Ortiz.

TBH I was actually affraid Wilder would fight Washington, because if that happened I'd had to admit that Wilder fought someone where from I think is better opposition as the opponend of AJ.

But then I lolled hard.

Damn it Tony. And we were getting along so well...
Seriously though man, take a look at the latest WBC heavyweight rankings. Here's the top 15 contenders:

1. Alexander Povetkin - PED cheat. Wilder's mandatory cancelled.
2. Bermane Stiverne - A rematch w/ former champ would have been acceptable, but Don King likely priced him out.
3. Kubrat Pulev - JUST went 12 tough rounds beating Chisora. Likely too banged up, plus pur$e too low & promotional issues.
4. Johann Duhaupas - Wilder already stopped him in one-sided affair a few months ago.
5. Carlos Takam - JUST L12 to Joseph Parker.
6. Joseph Parker - JUST beat Takam over 12, plus looking toward big money IBF shot.
7. Andy Ruiz - Probably could have stepped in, but low pur$e & promotional issues probably factors for no go.
8. David Haye - Has his own agenda & is def. NOT a low pur$e, late notice type of guy.
9. Bryant Jennings - Lost last two, last one brutal KO by Ortiz. Nope.
10. Malik Scott - Wilder already KO'd him in 1st round.
11. Artur Szpilka - Wilder just knocked him out.
12. Eric Molina - Wilder just knocked him out.
13. Dereck Chisora - JUST L12 to Pulev.
14. Ruslan Chagaev - Not about to pass up lucrative "regular" WBA title fight vs used up, inactive dinosaur Fres Oquendo.
15. Gerald Washington - Was right there in the running after dull, sloppy W10 over zero motivated Eddie Chambers, but who knows what
happened? His people probably tried to "hold up" Lou Dibella for more ca$h & he called their bluff.

And, as you can see my friend, Ortiz isn't even rated by the 'BC because he holds the 'BA's interim belt. Plus, Promo issues, low pur$e &
Ortiz is an HBO fighter, Wilder a Showtime.

So, that leaves Arreola who isn't even ranked in the top 15, but they'll correct that little issue at some point in the next four weeks before fight time. Probably by dropping Chagaev as soon as he signs to fight Oquendo for vacant "regular" 'BA belt.

So, as you can see, Arreola was pretty much the best opponent they could manage considering the short notice, the low budget pur$e & promo issues. I'm not happy with it either. If I had my druthers, the 'BC should have ranked Travis Kaufmann over Arreola considering the ganja guilty Arreola's undeserved split decision win was nullified to a NC12.
Kaufmann says that he'd have taken the opportunity if it were offered & if so, that would have been a slightly better match up IMO.
But, boxing politics. What are you going to do?

Good post SVU, but I don't agree on Jennings; those losses were to top fighters and they shouldn't make him less suitable than a guy who barely got past Travis Kauffman and benefited from a generous draw against Kassi before that. In fact, going just by the books Chris only has one win in his last four, and it's not like he's generally been facing elite opposition.

It is what it is. Wish they'd insert Ortiz in there instead, but you eloquenty explained why. Regarding the above WBC list, accounting for he he's beaten and who's realistic, I'd prefer Washington or Ruiz.

Povetkin did nothing wrong, it's the WBC, Wada and Vada who screwed up actually.

boxing remains the one sport where the markets have absolutely no influence whatsoever.

the baubles can have any fighters they want in their rankings.

theres no point complaining

You know Joshua and Wilder are going to fight and they should have fought already... Wilder should be fighting Povetkin, but his team found a way around that fight through the corruption of the WBC acting in concert with the corrupt testing organization VADA... Joshua will probably be fighting Fury next if he gets into shape and beats Klitschko.

Arreola is taking this fight on very short notice.
Marijuana stays in the system a long time.
Another reason this fight is idiotic, is that there's a real good chance Arreola will test positive again for pot.

If he failed his test when he knew a fight was signed, what could possibly keeping from lightening up a bone a week ago?

Arreola probably agreed to the fight as long as they didn't test him right away.

Anyway, in other important news.................Kalan and asdfjkl thankfully reminded us all that Povetkin did nothing wrong, Wilder is using the failed test as a way to duck Povetkin, and the WBC, WADA, and VADA are all corrupt and are treating Povetkin unfairly because he is from Russia. :OhYes:

It's simply two keep busy fights for Joshua and Wilder and that is how I see it, because Joshua will need to fight Joseph Parker next while Wilder's mandatory challenger is sorted out.

Wilder and Joshua hold bauble belts

Wilder won his against Stiverne who'd won it fighting the same Arreola and had a poor record with a loss and a draw to mediocre club fighters. Stiverne was a typical King fighter who's ranking was corrupt.

Joshua also had done nothing to make any claim to be any kind of contender. His victory over Martin was hardly the stuff of legend. Martin won on a technical against the very average Glazkov and had prior to this 'title' fight been in with Tom Dallas.

my point is...these are just alphabets.

they are by definition a joke.

they make their own rules according to what promoter lines their pockets.

if it greatly offends, you have the right not to pay them money to watch.

if you take away the fictional 'world title' strap line both fights are perfectly acceptable B-level scraps.

Joshua vs Breazeale is at least a guy in the top 10 fighting someone in the top 20. Good scrap.

I agree, I don't see it as a title fight. Having said that, I predict Joshua will beat the winner of Fury-Wlad 2, within 2 years, but until then the Always-Charming Tyson Fury is The Champion.
