Gareth A Davis
Forgive me if this has been done already but what the hell was he doing in the court room with Oscar pistorias ? Just saw him on sky news standing there. I know his a journalist but I thought he just covered boxing / ufc
Re: Gareth A Davis
If he was there, the answer is pretty obvious and you have even answered it yourself.

Re: Gareth A Davis
He moonlights as a piss test bottle holder for WADA.jessi wrote:Forgive me if this has been done already but what the hell was he doing in the court room with Oscar pistorias ? Just saw him on sky news standing there. I know his a journalist but I thought he just covered boxing / ufc

I imagine newspapers don't have dedicated journalists covering legless runners

If they did they would have had their hands full in Marseille at the weekend.sweetscience wrote:I imagine newspapers don't have dedicated journalists covering legless runners
Re: Gareth A Davis
Before he started covering boxing he was covering disabled sports and the Paralympics maybe he still does????
His boxing knowledge was appalling back in the day.

Re: Gareth A Davis
He does all sorts for the Telegraph....school sports, both codes of athletics, boxing....and has done for a while.
Even the big papers these days cannot afford a specialist boxing writer; sad but true.
Ron Lewis from The Times who is actually half-decent still has to do loads of athletics, sailing and also a bit on the side for Boxing Monthly.
The days of the specalist boxing hack working for the national are long gone and that means the coverage is less good/informed.
Kevin Mitchell - not everyone's cup of tea - has popped-up doing stuff for the Guardian on the French Open tennis

Yep, that's him. He's a good lad and always eager to improve his boxing knowledge. He is FAR better than Jeff Powell or Colin Hart. Ron Lewis is also pretty good. However, my favourite is Terry Dooley because of his eccentric style and his in depth boxing knowledge.handsofstone wrote:Is Gareth the guy with long flowing locks?

Re: Gareth A Davis
Gareth is the guy with the long mane of hair and apparently is a bit of a swordsman.
He is known privately as the Ron Jeremy of tabloid sports journalism.
I have met him a couple of times, but he's a true Alpha male and I avoided eye contact and he can view this as a primal threat. He was bare chested wearing a thick gold medallion which nestled amongst his thick chest hair. He was flexing himself at a weigh in for bunch of female hotel staff that were present.
