Prince Naz Heavybag

Post by Taansend »

No, this isn't a thread calling him a fat c{}nt :D

Years ago I remember seeing Naz doing a session on the heavybag & it was a bit mental.

Anyone remember it, or even better, have a video they can post? Or any others of him training when he was decent (i.e. before he started to ignore the "Tick Paddy" (Brendan Ingles own words)

Cheers

p.s. Prince Naz sometimes went by the name of Naseem Hamed, as well as Prisoner Number 6284187 for a few months.

I think there was a video of Naz sparring a heavyweight and it got out of hand, in Brenden's gym, Naz gave as good as he got, amazing power, he had.

It’s okay :TU: We overcomplicate things sometimes. Naz was a very good boxer and a nice little exciting rollercoaster for us British boxing fans - if maybe not “quite” the unquestioned, elite fighter.
Someone remind me who were the dominant world champs in their prime who he beat - would Mr Robinson be one of the better ones?
Kevin Kelley was like a razor that night, to my amateur eye.
What about Wayne McCulloch.....or Paul Ingle?

Who would like to rate Naseem Hamed’s four or five greatest wins?

Historically, is he in the top echelon? Yes or no?

Talent wise, yes. Career wise, No.

Cheers for that. You can see Clifton's just focusing on the body there.

Naz was good. But he was renowned as being a gym bully, both in and out of the ring.

to be fair he set such high standards for himself that regular wins just didnt cut it with the "fans". I recently rewatched the calvo fight and thought he actually boxed quite well and it wasnt anywhere near as awful as i remember. but at the time I was annoyed it wasnt a four round blow out.

To be fair his hands were finished by then and for the Barrera fight, that's why he never came back.

If it's a paid sparring partner, it's ok. Gym mates, body only.
