The guy who is asking about pressure should keep in mind that if Porter is taking as much punishment as that in a real fight with the real gloves he will get hurt. So fight wont look similar to this sparring.

Lol I just shared the link because I thought it was somewhat interesting to see them go at it a little. I don't think the sparring holds any relevance whatsoever though.

Damned RIght!!!! ... If you sparred with your opponent or fought him before??? That's a big advantage if you're the more technical fighter. Like Pac-JMM fought 4 times and Marquez won only 1 time -- but that's the fight everybody going to remember because the other fights were so close they were all disputed.. If you knock somebody stiff for 10 minutes nobody is going to dispute that. Pactards are going to say "That was the PED punch" and whatever excuse they can find -- because fanatics are not rational and aren't going to concede you ever beat them even if you destroy them.

Marquez was laying in the weeds for Pacquiao to come charging in like that.. If you fight somebody for 36 competitive rounds you know him better than his own mother knows him.. Pac promised a KO victory for months.. He's a man of his word generally.. To get a KO in an even matchup you have to take serious risks.. Marquez knew Pac would take those risks.. He kept telling Pac at face-offs, "You're making me scared telling everyone you'll knock me out. You're such a liar" and smiling at Pac.. It's Psychology 101.. You get your opponent's temperature up a little bit.. Needle him a little. Instill in him the resolve to come get you. You should get a big opening in a 12 round fight if a guy's coming after you. JMM was certainly ready and was able to pull the trigger very well at 39, when the reflexes have dulled a little bit. When a man falls on his face he's out cold.

I see Thurman-Porter as a similar very close type of WW matchup. They're both playing mind games. But why are you doing playing with your dogs while you're preparing for an important fight??? Put them in a kennel so they don't scratch your eye. They're family. You want to stay away from family during a camp like this. This is a fight that could change your life. You need to focus 24/7 on the fight. The world stops. You talk to the media. That's your job. You don't tell them how the fight is going to go. You don't say you're looking for a KO if you're looking to win on points. You don't try to mislead everybody. Just say you have a game plan and you'll reveal it during the course of the fight. You don't tell you're opponent what you're going to do, because if he's real smart he can probably guess anyway. But you don't give him one thing as a motivator. If he wins he'll say "Well, I guess Keith Thurman didn't knock me out like he said he would" because that's the thing that drove him all through training camp and made him work his ass off -- you telling everybody you're going to knock him out only works for him. So instead you talk about your opponent, and how good he is, and all he's accomplished, and for that reason this fight means so much to you. Because he's so good. You don't give him a damned thing unless you know for certain you can beat him easily. Then you trash him and bad mouth him and his abilities and say they better measure him for a casket. It doesn't matter because you're going to knock him out no matter how motivated he is -- and if he fights harder it's better for you.

My opinion all along was that this fight would be a loser and a bore but even though this footage is 3 years old, their styles mesh a little better than i thought they would. This fight might just be a little better than i thought it would be. I was going to watch it either way but i'm a bit more excited about it now that i've seen this.

I think that i'm leaning towards a Thurman KO now that i've seen this footage. Porter leaves the window open in transition and it's a matter of time before Thurman exploits it. Thurman KO in 10th round.
