Best live boxing show you were at
Just started to go to live shows again after a very long time, and was thinking of the best show I have ever been to and always found it difficult to top Benn v Eubank 1 was a big Eubank fan and in a massive minority on that night, good Barry Hearn show, but also been to some very poor Duff shows where the house fighters were under matched, outside of the big shows what were the best bills you went to?

I used to live in Belfast and there were cracking shows in the Ulster Hall during the '90s. An up-and-coming Darren Corbett, Jim Rock, Eamonn Magee, Paul Ireland, Ray Kane, Frank Slane. Pretty much every fight on the bill was good sometimes

That's weird, I was about to start this thread.
Norton vs Quarry
Leonard- Hearns 2
Foreman vs "DINO" Dennis
Bobick-Middleton
Page vs Tubbs
Tom "The Bomb" Bethea vs Pedro Soto
Jimmy Young vs Jeff Sims
Then some minor cards. Like the above were all world renowned, right.
Headliners were
Kermit Cintron
Billy "Dynamite" Douglas (Buster's Dad)
David Lewter
Jason Gavern vs Wilson
All LIVE. Didn't count watching it on PPV screen.

Remember watching Frank Slane win the Ulster Senior Title in the Ams. He was a fantastic talent. Paul Ireland had the talent to go far but the demon drink got to him instead. All guys listed above provided great action.Noxy wrote:I used to live in Belfast and there were cracking shows in the Ulster Hall during the '90s. Ulster Hall is an awesome venue for boxing.

Not much for me, but kalan saw Fitzsimmons/Corbett as a young lad and Ali/Liston as a teenager.

Aye, against Tommy Waite. Great fight that was. I always rated Slane actually, I thought he would do something in the pros but he only had 2 fights. Maybe he just didn't take to the pro gameKetchel wrote:Remember watching Frank Slane win the Ulster Senior Title in the Ams. He was a fantastic talent. Think it was more to do with eye trouble that caused Slane to retire. It was a great fight with Waite, though the best fighter on the night was Steven Kirk who beat Mark Delaney. Kirk was another guy who was unlucky on how his career turned out. He would have been a great pro.Noxy wrote:Aye, against Tommy Waite. Great fight that was. Best show I was at was an amateur show at the World Cup in Baku, Azerbaijan where it was team vs team. The top two teams Cuba and Russia boxed in the finals and it came down to the super heavyweight fight to determine the championship. This around '05 or '06. Great fights and excitement.
