He was already doing some work on one of these blokey channels as an analyst on some amateur/ semi-pro octagon type show. He looked proper sharp in his waistcoat....and because of his level he was a bit like an idol at an event like that.

Not really sure why he’s still at it, but I’d suggest it’s not so much cash (tho nice) but can he separate it from his identity?

He was “too good” if you like....in as much as he could get them out of there early....look at the amount of kos inside 1 2 and 3 rounds on his record......I don’t think he properly honed the art of defence and even patience, in my humble layman’s opinion. He positively ran into the ring against Haye ffs, in a fight I thought he would win.

I read last week that Khan spent £100,000 on his 2 year olds birthday party last week,its not something i would ever do if i was a millionaire but im not saying its wrong,its his money,he's entitled to do what he wants with it,especially if its on his kid but i do find it strange that someone who does a lot of charity work and has spent a lot of time seeing poverty from around the world would spend that amount of cash on something so superficial especially on a child who's too young to understand whats going on

I'm pretty sure it would've been his wife's doing. How are you gonna say no to her when you've just trousered 5 mill for your last fight.

Yeah he is shy when it comes to positive publicity is Khan - he is always in the paper and on Grabada Reports explaining what a great humanitarian he is.

I too find it difficult to understand how he can see see such poverty in the world and then brag in OK magazine about how much money he spent on a toddlers birthday party - although I guess that is the modern celebrity and luvvie culture, lecture the ordinary person and ask them to donate a quid whilst at the same time they spunk grands on shite for themselves (Don't get me started on Geldof and his mates!)

Many have achieved far less than Enzo did. I wish him the best of luck in retirement.

Enzo has had an excellent career and won titles all the way up to world level in two weight classes. He must bitterly disappointed... Add in that he is a decent commentator and, well, where has it all gone wrong for the chap?

Enzo has had a great career.

Favourite moment for me was his boxing masterclass of Wayne Braithwaite.

In my opinion he's one of the Top 10 Welsh fighters of all time. Certainly in the modern era

Good luck to him. I was ringside when he was knocked out by Frenkel and remember people screaming "No!" when the referee stupidly let the fight carry on after Enzo had been very heavily floored. It was horrific. I'm glad he's OK, and hope he stays retired and keeps up the commentary - he seems good at it.

Great career Enzo's had and let's not forget he took this fight at 3 week's notice. Kudos to him for taking on a tough fight at short notice against a Euro level banger. Chinny fighter but well-loved by majority of boxing fans.

As others have said, it didn't go wrong.

I think Enzo's achievements were right in line with his ability.

Is Enzo still studying Judo?

Quite a few boxers enjoy martial arts training, especially after retirement. Herol Graham I believe, and Ray Mancini.

i always think of that song he came in to against haye, i wont back down ,then haye steam rolled him, but he came back after that lost, and had a good career only lost to good fighters , brave fighter as well, not everyone can be the best in the world

Went wrong? Enzo had a career to be proud of.

Wasn't afraid of a challenge and was in some entertaining scraps. His defence was a little leaky and he did enjoy a fight a bit too much, that therefore lead to a few of his defeats.

A WBU, British, commonwealth, EBU and WBO world title.

Rather than where Enzo went wrong I think it should be where Enzo could have gone better.

Following the David Haye fight he should have moved down to light heavy immediately. You can see from his weights he didn't struggle making it, and he looked quite good down there. I thought against braehmer he looked good despite the eye injury and he has an impressive win over ovill who would go on to draw in a world title effort.

I remember in the lead up to ofalabi fight he pretty much trained himself due to Enzo Calzaghe having court room issues and he just based his whole camp around smashin beer kegs in to the floor and so on.

I know he runs the amateur gym his dad used to own. I've seen Enzo in changing rooms at amateur shows speaking to boxers too. He loves the sport and gives plenty back to it. Big names get Queen honours for services to boxing where it's basically stuff they've done for themselves whereas Enzo genuinely puts a lot of his time in and is far more deserving of such accolade

He had a great career, his head should be up high. He was an old school figher who would take on anyone, some of today's fighters could learn a thing or two from the example he set.

He had a short interview on the boxing hour with Bunce last week and it sounded like he was willing to keep going. I hope he just decides that enough is enough because he's achieved all he's ever going to and is still healthy.
