Mundine approaches Horn and is told you have devalued and wait in the queue

Post by bogan whisperer »

Last weekend Anthony Mundine's camp contacted Jeff Horn’s to discuss a potential fight. But was told Mundine needs to get in the queue and that his bargaining power has been severely devalued after he was brutally stopped by Charles Hatley.

Horn’s trainer/manager Glenn Rushton said “Mundine-Horn would be a fight purely for Jeff to make a good payday and we are very confident we could beat Anthony. But right now our focus is on winning a world championship.’’

Well, that all bit Mundine in the arse, didn't it!? I don't think we'll see him fight again until he cashed out against Green, although time isn't on his side there either, I doubt there'll be the money on the table for the both of them as there was even last year.

Mundine is just double checking there is nothing else out there that will pay big dividends for him other than Green. Put a line through Horn.

It has really stung Mundine on the arse by the sound of his facebook response:

I've been fighting with a bad hip for years & been limited in my movement which effected me lots ! But now I've had successful surgery my movement is like I'm 20 again ...line em up I'll knock em down...I guarantee I will ice your boy !!! Make him look like what he is an amateur...my confidence is high my belief high I'll be good to go in the new year ...what you gonna write now ? We know your up his ass lol tell that bum we be in touch if he dares

I'll be good to go in the new year
Says Da Man, which implies that nothing will happen in the ring for at least 7-8 months.

Any more date slippages, will see both Mundine and Green applying for their "Seniors Cards".

That caught my eye as well.

In the one breath he claims " I've had successful surgery and my movement is like I'm 20 again" and then in the next " I'll be good to go in the new year."

Sounds like he has a long way to go before being fight fit again.

Jeff Horn says he would love to fight Anthony Mundine immediately as a warm-up while he chases a bout with WBO welterweight champ Jessie Vargas.

http://www.couriermail.com.au/sport/box ... 9486ef7aae

“I’d love to fight Mundine before Vargas,’’ said Horn who demolished former world champ Randall Bailey in Brisbane in his last start.

“I think there would be huge interest and we could fight at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre where he fought Daniel Geale.

“We sparred in Brisbane about three years ago when Mundine was getting ready to fight Shane Mosley and I landed a few good ones on him. But I’m much more advanced now and I’d love to show him how much.

“The Mundine rematch with Danny Green is building in interest and Danny is fighting Kane Watts, another Aussie next month. Mundine could fight another Aussie in the lead-up and I’d like it to be me.’’
