Pirog knocked Jacobs out with a nice shot... He couldn't knock Nubohiro Ishida out... GGG knocked Ishida out so cold they took him to intensive care.. That short stroke is something you've never seen from Pirog -- 1 shot BOOM!! The guy disappears from the scene.. Golovkin vs Pirog was signed.. No way out for Pirog but to pull out and quit the ring for good.kashmir786 wrote:Dmitry pirog

Re: Tell me a boxer more complet than lomachenko
Sounds like some here consider Lomachenko the greatest on the planet.
If so, i'm still trying to figure out how this guy could possibly get humbled by Orlando Salido, a very tough hombre to be sure, but a fairly one dimensional fighter.
If Lomachenko is as complete as opined here, then he should have destroyed Salido.
I recall a truly complete fighter, JM Marquez, toying with Salido for 12 rounds some years back.
Even Mikey Garcia, whose interest and hunger for boxing is questionable, dominated Suri.
Yeah, that Cuban guy Rigo might be as dull as a year old razor, but he easily outshines Loma when it comes to completeness.

You do know pirog had a slipped disk permnate back injury. Even during ishida fight. He vacated his title for choosing to fight ggg instead of his mandatory. Every time he went into training his injury reacured he was the last man afraid of ggg and the man with the best chance of beating ggg. I never seen a more pure boxer that was defensively and offensily technical like him. He trained him self and learned everything from watching tapes. Pure talent.Kalan wrote:Pirog knocked Jacobs out with a nice shot... He couldn't knock Nubohiro Ishida out... GGG knocked Ishida out so cold they took him to intensive care.. Wasn't that Loma's second fight and the first 12-rounder ?SenorPipino wrote:Sounds like some here consider Lomachenko the greatest on the planet.

Wasn't Salido like 7 pounds heavier ?
Wasn't Salido allowed repeated low blows and other dirty tactics ?

salido came in as a welterweight, he was much overweight, it was criminal
so, hopkins lost his first fight and thats why hopkins cant be a complet boxer. so if looking bad in a fight or losing makes you a non complet boxer, than anybody from floyd to pacquiao arent complet boxers.
Re: Tell me a boxer more complet than lomachenko
so nobody has one, aside from obvious undistructable forces like norris, martin or lugar.

Mate, a male over 5'10 and 154 pounds could simply lift him off of the ground by his throught, when he has beaten an actual normal sized man, give us a hoy.Chepppaaa wrote:so nobody has one, aside from obvious undistructable forces like norris, martin or lugar.

Wilt Chamberlain would have knocked them both into orbit with the same punch.Kalan wrote:Pirog knocked Jacobs out with a nice shot... He couldn't knock Nubohiro Ishida out... It was only his 2nd fight. I'm not so sure Mayweather would've totally dominated Corrales in his 2nd fight like he did when they finally fought. Experience counts for alotSenorPipino wrote:Sounds like some here consider Lomachenko the greatest on the planet.

I'd agree that Loma is the most complete boxer presently. GGG is extremely well rounded as well, but it's hard to go against Loma here. GGG punches harder, but I'd say that is all he has over Loma. Loma hits angles and shows movement that is not only quick and flashy, but fundamentally sound. And the way he utilizes his defense while simultaneously attacking is a thing of beauty. There is no other active fighter that does this as fluidly and successfully as Loma.

When you compare two top boxers one of whom is significantly heavier, the lighter one is always "better" technically. It is always easier to move a lighter body.Impractical Poster wrote:I'd agree that Loma is the most complete boxer presently. If they were in the same area technically, then yes... However, BHop was a lot more technical than 95% of the lower weight guys in his younger days. And Floyd was more technical than pretty much everyone lighter than he was. GGG doesn't show the same angles and takes a bit more punishment while going on the attck than does Loma...boxing_rocks wrote:When you compare two top boxers one of whom is significantly heavier, the lighter one is always "better" technically. Don't get me wrong. I love GGG. He and Gonzo are my favorite active fighters atm... I just try and think objectively when discussing these matters.
