Joshua IFL interview frustration

Post by tobyh5 »

First couple minutes drove me insane.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AY0yN8ESayo

What is all this bullshite retrospective "No one thought I would beat Charles Martin. Everyone thought I would lose and now they say he was rubbish. No one said that at the time." - FCKING HELL!!! Everyone not part of the Sky payroll, not dependant on the promotion or the people in it were saying it was a joke fight. It is all here on this forum, twitter, other forums, social media, everywhere. It drives me mental, Jonny Nelson said the same BS recently.

Then the interview goes on with him saying Wilder is the real champion, says some shite about "factually speaking" Wilder is the real champion as he is the only one who has defended his title. HOW THE FCK does that work then?

Jesus I hate this bollox and I hate the Kuggan sucks their sacks so hard and has such a mouthful of balls that he will not correct him and lets him talk this bs.

I am off to have a lie down then beat up some dwarves to get out my frustration

Joshua is such a boring individual.
Hearn is a miracle worker for turning this personality-vacuum into a star...

Nearly an hour of AJ talking....no thanks.

Thankfully he's dynamite in the ring.

read on BS today that Joshua said he is ready to fight Fury as soon as Fury wants it.
Not sure AJ ran that statement past Hearn and the Matchroom PR Team before he said it...

Yup, looks like AJ is a lad in a hurry and perhaps the relationship with Hearn is going to be more of partnership of equals in coming months.
Whether Fury is going to have a belt or even be in boxing is all up for grabs of course....Tyson takes his own peculiar path.

A few people on here picked Martin, I think. They clearly hadn't bothered watching him beforehand.

Actually Hearn has said many times that he thinks Joshua is ready for Fury. He just doesn't think he's ready for Haye yet.

Doesn't half annoy me when boxers say stuff like that, plenty are guilty of it. Any fight they win where a few people picked the opponent instantly gets turned into some unbelievable underdog story. The only British fighter who can say it and be telling the truth is probably Fury.

Fury unsuprisingly has already stated he wont be paying any of the IBF's sanctioning fees if he's to defend against Joshua so Anthony might be forced to vacate if he wants to face Tyson

Quite right i must add to

Another thing that jerks my chicken is this new expression of someone being a "super champion". Peter Fury started saying it about Wlad and then it became a thing and even other people started saying it about him before it now has almost become an expression to describe the champions who are not complete jokes.

It is like we have levels of champions. The ones who really are a champion are "super champions" and the rest just mere "world champion" as AJ is described despite everyone knowing he isn't.

What next, Super Duper champs?

Wasn't that because Wlad was the WBA super champion?

wasn't Peter Fury referring to Wlad as the Super Champion meaning he was above the regular ABC Titles and was number 1 in the division?

I don`t mind Joshua to be fair. Seems like a nice enough guy to me.

Just don`t see him keeping the hunger/determination going once the mega bucks start rolling in. He`ll be a star that burns itself out pretty quickly.

What`s gonna drive him to get up at 5 am and run 10 miles in the pishing cold rain when he`s got tens of millions in the bank? More millions?

I think as well the length of his reign elevates him above just someone who was number 1 for a short amount of time. He's a legit heavyweight ATG.

I didn't pick him but I did think he'd pit up a better effort than he did.

I didn't even try to watch any of it. From what I've heard it's as dull as I'd expect.

Well he was the WBA's super champion. Now Fury holds that prestigious belt, of course.

He did fell into contradiction there. You cant say I am on par with champions and then say I am still a novice with 16 fights. Either you admit you are the world champion and fight the best or you accept you are a novice with a gifted belt and still need to improve.

Still a great guy. Maybe not a type of lunatic that hard core fans get excited about but exactly what normal people are looking for, a man that tries to be decent. If he keeps winning he will be a crossover mega star, get used to it.

Pretty much this Wlad was the man Wilder and now Joshua are mere belt holders Fury beat the man so he is the man.

Joshua is a cool guy. I see him as a possible role model for kids. He doesn't interview well as a bad tough guy boxer.

He must've surrounded himself with haters cos I don't remember any of us here on Boxrec tipping Charles Martin to beat him. Most of us betted on a first round knockout.
