Dream we all Dream of!!!!

Post by Bricks »

Its the dream we all dream of..............

Boys versus girl......

In the world......

series of fighting!

OK the toughest daughter of a bitch who ever lived Rhonda Rousey has to fight these featherweights in boxing history. I chose Rousey cos ive never seen a pretty girl who looked so tough.

The rules are......

The fight is in a ring

6 rounds of 3 minute durations

The boxers are wearing 12 ounce gloves. Rhonda has UFC gloves.
1 minute of grappling on the ground is allowed before the fighters are stood up.

The featherweight boxers are transported in a time machine, and told in the future fighting will be the dream we all dream of.....boy versus girl...in the world series of fighting! The boxers are given 2 months of boxing training and 4 months of pure grappling training to counteract takedowns and submissions.
The boxers will weigh in at 126lbs on the day. So come fight night will weigh about 132 lbs.
Rousey is allowed 48 hours to drain and recompose so she will weigh in at 135 and on fight night be around 143 lbs.

Okay the opponents?

Honestly, it was only a few months ago that grown men were clearly saying that Rhonda would whup just about any boxer her size including Floyd Mayweather. And then a girl boxer comes along, and beats her.....and the hysteria ended.

I spoke out strongly against the idea that she would rule against boxers, but it was too late, some of the regulars had drank the kool aid, and were sucked into the vortex.

I should have brought up the Wilt vs Rhonda exception back then, but didn't think of it.

If it starts on the ground, she submits all of them in seconds. Especially if they have Boxing gloves on to defend with.

I agree with tobias, a year ago it was a no brainer... rousey would crush them in any number of ways...her unparalleled in mma judo stand up throws and trips and her ground fighting...even her stand up striking was rated ...her brutal beat down by a woman boxer has made this more interesting.

The boxers in question will be taught how to sprawl and avoid kicks ,they will be taught how to avoid subs on the ground....the gloves stack it against them but ground time is limited to a minute at a time and they will be taught survival tactics

The truth is one good punch by these world class boxers and its all over

4 months isn't nearly long enough to learn submission defense, much less with gloves on. Under these rules if you take the top 100 featherweights of all time shed submit 95 or so inside 30 seconds, the rest knock her out inside of 10 seconds.

Thats a fair assesment. Maybe around 92-95, 4 months training of daily sessions may have been of some survival level use with expert tuition.....but since than no way against a olympic medalist and top level mma star.

I think Wilt would have needed about 8 months training to prepare for Rousey, as she is much better than prime Ali was. :TU:

NOBODY ever said Rhonda would beat Floyd in a Boxing Match... And NOBODY ever said Floyd would beat Rhonda in an MMA match... You see... boxers don't wear 3-once gloves like MMA fighters... Boxers wear big, huge, padded gloves you can hide behind while laying on the ropes.

Boxers don't get kicked in the head with bear feet.. they don't get their heads grabbed and kneed in the face or chin... they don't get kneed in the leg... kneed in the chest... elbowed flush in the face... sat on and hammer fisted in the ears... choked out... kicked in the legs... tripped, grabbed, wrestled, and thrown to the ground... sat on and punched out... They don't have 100's of different Jiu jitsu submission holds applied to their arms, legs, or neck, and forced to tap out or have their arm ripped clean off... Boxers hit each other with much bigger more padded gloves, above the waist, to the front of the body, with the end of the fist... Baby, when a boxer starts learning MMA the training wheels come off... It's the difference between scribbling with crayolas and painting the Sistine Chapel.

Now... Boxing is sort of poetic and gentlemanly... It's pure... it's limited... it's specialized... it's not a real fight... let's be real Hector, it's a boxing match

People wear bears feet in MMA matches? Sounds dangerous.

The big old boxing gloves would help block kicks and punches in a way mma gloves dont allow.....but bear feet this is something i did not consider.

If rhonda came in with bear feet she could tear the boxers gloves, mcguigans pale skin would be cut easier with bear feet

Never going to happen, he rarely ever comments on Boxing anymore. You know it's dark days when you go from all of your friends you used to watch fights with not caring to a slew of people that were big enough fans to join message boards quitting the sport.

I know what u mean .

The sport is minimising even as others insist its getting bigger.

Take the UK we have plenty of fighters, plenty of real rivalries......plenty going on lots of money in the sport over here........but it still comes across as dire as SKY SPORTS and EDDIE HEARN are ruining the sport by making domestic level fights into world title fights all the time. The whole Anthony Joshua is a world champion is a case in point a total farce. Even casual fans who hadn't watched a world heavyweight fight since the 80s and 90s could tell Joshua-Martin was not a world level fight much less a title fight for a title Ali, Tyson, Holyfield once held

Perhaps it's being away from a rabid fan base, but I think Joshua is the goods. Fights like Flanagan/Fana are ridiculous. Never saw too many of them abroad. I love the crowds in the UK, but while I'll always love Boxing(I cling to it more than anything) I'm past the point of watching streams or every little card I can find. The quality of fights isn't there, Porter/Thurman is a good match up but I'm expecting a let down.

We"re drinking from the same barrel of beer at this point.

Not having access to the main fights during 95-2003 couldnt kill my interest in boxing

Hell all i had in 2000-2002 was eurosport and they did only three things boxing wise.....they showed every sven ottke/marcis beyer fight....they showed heavyweight explosion cards ....and usa network boxing......but those days of viewing were golden.....i enjoyed it all

Nowadays outside the HW scene, the 147lb and top tier 160 and 175 divisions, and canelo, very little else interests me in boxing.

Sky coverage of the sport is dire but Steve bunce"s presentation ,his accent and dingy cupboard of a studio, really makes u feel boxing is a minority sport somewhere beneath judo and netball

There are so many inferior "world champions" ,unorigional matchmaking, nobody interesting.....

That said i do like al haymons style of card on pbc he has put together some good matchups and i like the presentation

I like that the PBC matches prospects on their undercards but the main events and ratings are routinely abysmal. Americans just don't care anymore. Man, i DVR everything and have HBO & Showtime predominantly for Boxing. I used to ignore these sites and texts if I was busy so I didn't get spoilers. Half the time now I end fast forwarding through a card or checking the results first.

Al had a good vision and a poor plan. Meanwhile I buy every UFC PPV because it constantly delivers. I waffled on the last one but ended up getting it because I'm a big Bisping fan(even though i thought he was going to get crushed) and the card was awesome. They all aren't, but on paper every one of them is better than anything Boxing comes close to offering.

Look at the best fights from even 20 years ago compared to now. Miura/Vargas was very dramatic, but they still were landing 10 to 15 punches a round. Wouldn't have made a top 25 list of FOTY in the 80's or 90's. It's over.
