GGG Joins Kovalev in Pathetic Waiting Game

Post by caldo2025 »

The sad state of affairs in Boxing continues. Boxing is a copy cat sport like no other and it appears that the mimics are at it again. The new trend in Boxing is to schedule big fights out over a year away instead of giving fans what they want in a timely manner. By negotiating fights in this manner, there's too many moving pieces and things that could go wrong during a long stretch but these boxers are trying to get credit for agreeing to fight boxers that are most avoided.

Andre Ward announced over a year ago that he would fight Kovalev and that fight is written in pencil to happen on 11/19/16. That's if both boxers win their scheduled preliminary fight planned and do not suffer any significant cuts or ailments. Ward's prelim fight is 8/06/16. Are we to believe that he's going to take that fight in August and come back in 3 months? He's had 2 fights in the last 3 years but we are expecting he'll have 2 within 3 months? Never happen. But the public is off of Ward's back and everyone gives him credit for taking on the monster.

Now Canelo and Golden Boy are copying Ward's move here. It's the same sad, desperate move and it's amazing how many people will fall for it. GGG and Kovalev prove how desperate they are for a big fight for choosing to dance this dance. If I were them, i'd just move on and get out of this fiasco because i don't see either of these "Super" Fights happening...ever. Boxers are getting more pathetic every day.

... and I think that both fights will not happen when expected or won't happen at all.

You have to remember that Kovalev and Stevenson appeared on the same bill in Quebec Canada 3 years ago... They both fought pushovers instead of each other... But that was supposed be to hype up a fight between them and get everybody all excited about the big super fight.

And you have to remember that Sergio Martinez promised to face Golovkin several years ago... and that both Cotto and Canelo promised to fight GGG at some point when they had the Lineal Title... In fact Canelo said "We have a saying in Mexico...WE DON'T FK AROUND!!" After that Canelo fkd around and gave up the belt.

That really doesn't bode well for the future does it????

Exactly. Mexican's don't FK around so i'll fight you in a couple years, GGG. Cowards. Boxing is full of absolute cowards. The boxers that think that taking a tough fight is not a good career choice or part of their job. The whole thing is laughable. Meanwhile, the only ones doing it right are GGG, Kovalev and Loma.

I wouldn't call anyone that puts on the gloves and their life on the line inside the squared circle a coward. There are a lot of other much easier ways to make a living. If you hate boxing so fornicating bad why do you keep following it?

Seriously, that argument has been done to death.

If you spend your career avoiding real challenges, fighting over matched and smaller opponents and are actually scared to face your biggest challenge, then there's a word for you....

I do not agree with the idea that everyone who steps in the ring is brave and bold. It's who you get in the ring with and how you behave in there.
I don't consider myself to be particularly brave, but i'd get in a boxing ring and slug it out with someone of similar (particularly low) levels of skill to myself. I haven't done, as I'm not a boxer, but the thought of it doesn't seem particularly daunting
If I was being paid well for it, I'd happily get in the ring with someone who'd kick my ass.

But if I saw you being robbed at knifepoint on the street, I'd piss my pants and run away!
