Billy Joe Saunders vs Sugar Ray Robinson

Post by BoxBuzz »

1. Billy has never lost a fight
2. Billy is taller
3. Billy has fought a group of fighters with an amalgamated lop sided winning record.
4. It may be that Billy has never fought a "padding" fight.
5. Enviable KO record (more than half of his fights have not gone the distance)

(Waiting to hear from Kalan, to see if I have learned a thing since his arrival).

If BJS ever steps into a ring with Eubank again that'll be the end of him... You heard it here first... He's nothing special and a Eubank who had no jab or defense was his only really good win... He had Andy Lee knocked out early... Where's the killer instinct??? GGG would crush him in 5 and he's been a ducking cherry-picker every time that fight has been proposed.. Ditto with the Eubank rematch.

Saunders isn't taller than Robinson. They're the same height. However he's a naturally bigger Middleweight, maybe entering the ring at 170.

Ok Ok, I'll keep tryin......aint givin' up.

By the way...BJS always slouches when he goes in for his height check. So don't be fooled.

And I agree with the Eubank statement.

Tomasino, next time you have a brain scan make sure they have the machine turned on. Last time they couldn't find anything so it was either turned off or you're brainless. SRR was a small Middleweight and couldn't hang with Joey Maxim who was 173. Robbie was 157.5

He couldn't hang with the extreme heat. He was beating Joey Maxim thoroughly.

Scoring at time of stoppage: 10-3, 9-3-1, and 7-3-3 (all for Robinson)

Means NOTHING if you can't hang for the distance... Does it???

Joey Maxim... "Ray you can't punch.. You're not breaking popcorn."

Oh yes... And wherever Maxim went in that ring the temperature was cooler... The heat only affected Robinson.

Joey Maxim endured heat better than Ray, doesn't make him a better fighter

Maybe a smarter fighter. He paced himself better in the heat and made Robinson throw. It's like taking a round off for the greater goal of winning the fight. Or sacrificing a pawn for a knight. Maxim said he wasn't a real good boxer or puncher, but he tried to be clever.

Maybe Ralph Jones would be a better opponent for Billy Joe Saunders... Wait... Jones lost 5 fights in a row and then beat the trash out of Sugar Ray Robinson... And Saunders is an undefeated World Champion and beat Golovkin's likely next opponent... Of course I think Saunders will get beaten a lot in the future just like happened to Robinson.
