Louis by a hair over Ali. I have wilt ranked 8 trillionth and Joshua just outside the top thousand.

I was very close to voting for Wilt, but went for Louis, also by a hair. I think Ali would beat Louis head-to-head, but that's a different thread.

A few weeks ago I thought it might be Rhonda Rousey, Because I swept up in the hysteria of her omnipotence, but that's before Wilt-A-Mania set in.

I'm thinkin' it over. If it were a pound for pound HW discussion, I'd want to see Ezz's name on the list as well.

True if it's a HW across the board....but a pound for pound HW discussion would favor him.

There's only one Wilton Norman Chamberlain.

He's achieved this feat whilst amassing a perfect record of 0-0-0; at the same time as boning 20,202 women, knocking out Clyde Lovellette with one single blow of one of his mighty fists & playing basketball too! :o

What a guy!

PS: You should have had Meadowlark Lemon in your poll! :TU:

I don't rank Chamberlain because he was denied the Ali fight... It’s hard to accomplish something if you’re not given the opportunity. Louis was knocked out by Max Schmeling and Rocky Marciano, and beaten by Ezzard Charles... plus Louis got knocked on his butt by such fistic luminaries as Tony Galento and Jimmy Braddock... Ali got knocked on his ass such fistic luminaries as Sonny Banks and Henry Cooper. Ali got his jaw shattered by that fistic paragon Ken Norton – you know the guy who couldn’t live with Foreman, Garcia, Shavers, and Cooney because he was so easy to smash unconscious. The fact is there were a lot of holes in Louis’s and Ali’s defenses and there isn’t any in AJ’s... Plus, AJ has greater punching range, variety, and power than they had.

Anthony Joshua is the only Heavyweight Champion in Fistic History with a 100% winning ratio combined with a 100% KO ratio. And AJ won the Heavyweight Championship in fewer rounds than even Leon Spinks did. Spinks, as you know, weighed 197 when he beat Ali, when he had all of 7 fights ... Ali should have been fighting Larry Holmes instead of Leon Spinks BTW. Spinks and got knocked out NINE (9) TIMES when he fought tougher guys than Ali. They were able to punch harder and more accurately and got Leon out easily.

Joshua was slated to fight Tyson Fury in the Fall if Fury hadn’t injured his dainty little ankle – so we’ll see if Joseph Parker steps up to the challenge. Something tells me Parker might look for a way out of a Joshua fight. And I wonder if Fury will ever fight him. AJ is casting a shadow of fear over the Heavyweight Division. Was anyone afraid of Ali? ... I’m not sure ... Alfredo Evangelista wasn’t.

Those are all facts... Facts are such stubborn things for some people to consider.

AJ is also yet to fight the #1 in the division. Or the #2 in the division. Or the #3 in the division. Or the...... well, you get the picture. You aren't the man, until you beat the #1 in the division. AJ isn't the World Heavyweight Champion.

Dillian Whyte wasn't afraid of AJ, neither was last night's opponent.

You are talking complete bollocks, but at least it's fun.

Vitali Klitschko won the WBO heavyweight title in his 25th fight - with a 100% KO ratio.
Yes, Joshua has a 100% KO ratio as of now (same as Vitali did) we will see what happens as AJ progresses.
Saying that, I hope AJ goes his whole career with the same ratio. I rate him highly.

Yes, I forget about that and stand corrected... Vitali Klitschko did win a Heavyweight Title from a very weak Title Holder, Herbie Hide who he destroyed in 2 rounds... Hide was a 2-time Heavyweight Champion, beating the weakest Heavyweight Title holder of all time in Michael Bentt, and I think he beat also beat Tony Tucker. Vitali was a 3-time Heavyweight Champion.

The unusual thing is Joshua had such a short Amateur of 43 fights... and was Heavyweight Championship with 34 rounds of experience. That hasn't happened before... Plus if he fought Fury he'd kill him... Floyd Patterson avoided Sonny Liston for many years. That doesn't mean Liston wasn't the de facto Champion. The only guy I see who could potentially beat Joshua is Luis Ortiz, a very slick boxer and tremendous punching southpaw. But no top Heavyweight is fighting Ortiz and I don't expect them to until he gets old.

Pre ban, Ali was unbeaten and beat all the best heavyweights of his day including Charles Liston who was considered unbeatable at that tine.

True; Wilt has the only unblemished record in pro boxing history.

Zero wins; zero draws & zero defeats!

Even Meadowlark Lemon couldn't have managed that!

I would have tabbed the unbeaten Wilt but decided against it after realizing he suddenly pulled out of the Ali bout because his father told him he "was crazy."

(I'm sure Kalan would argue that I have this all wrong, but I'll side with evidence rather than blather.)

Father Knows Best in this case, so I reluctantly changed my vote to Ali.

They are for YOU... You see, Liston was NOT considered unbeatable--because he'd already been BEATEN... A light heavyweight beat Liston. Sonny had 24 pounds on Marty Marshall and LOST---a disgraceful performance... It was only Liston's 8th fight that's true -- but Leon Spinks beat Ali when he only had 7 fights. Leon Spinks was another very small Heavyweight. Spinks was a MASSIVE UNDERDOG who Ali cherry-picked to avoid fighting Larry Holmes.. Leon Spinks gave up 27 pounds to Ali, but still kicked his ass ... I can't imagine Anthony Joshua fighting "Heavyweights" who are that small and inept as Leon Spinks.. Spinks got knocked out 9 times when he fought harder punchers than Ali.

Joshua is yet to even fight anyone who's done anything major, Ali has beaten people considered great in their own right.

Joshua has beaten 4 undefeated Heavyweights in a row: 21-0.. 16-0.. 23-0-1.. and 17-0.. So they were undefeated in 78 fights before they were smashed out by AJ... Charles Martin won a Heavyweight Championship against an undefeated mandatory challenger -- so THAT IS fairly major..

Ali LOST FIGHTS to guys who NEVER DID ANYTHING major previously or since beating Ali ... such as Ken Norton and Leon Spinks -- Joshua would have destroyed those 2 super hittable Heavyweights inside of a round... Joshua obviously has a more balanced and solid stance than Ali had... slips and ducks punches better than Ali did... Joshua doesn't get plastered against the ropes like Ali did... AJ fights better inside and has a better body attack than Ali... and AJ counterpunches and throws more accurate combinations than Ali did... Ali isn't a sucker for left jabs and left hooks like Ali was.

Ali only lost to world champions and didn't lose a single fight in his prime.

AJ isn't even the #1 heavyweight now, let alone #1 of all time.

His knockout ratio and the number of unbeaten fighters he has beaten means very little.... I draw your attention to Ali Raymi

Can you not see how biased you are against Ali?
