Re-evaluating Froch v Magee
Re-evaluating Froch v Magee
Froch's nothing more than a hype-job. I've been shouting it on here for long enough now but my words have always fallen on deaf ears. Sure'ly now, after watching Froch get bashed around by Waterman, most people's opinions of this over-hyped Hennessy wonder boy must be re-evaluated? sure'ly?
I've been saying since the Magee fight was announced that Froch was going to get a pasting but nobody on here would have any of it. Well, who's having it now, who's jumping ship? You may not like Magee, i know many dont after the Ried fight, but he's got far to much for Froch and he'll win this one comfortably.
Regards

I think Froch will beat Magee easily enough.
Some people are acting as if Westerman knocked him out in the first or something! So it was a bad performance? So what? Anyone who isn't a cretin is likely to understand he'll take the Magee fight more seriosuly.
I'm willing to accept his excuse that he was under-motivated. Give him the benefit of the doubt on this occasion.

I don't want to sound like a Froch apologist but I saw nothing style wise last Friday to make me think Magee will win. Froch was lazy and over-confident, but once he realised he wasn't going to blast Westermen out in one or two (which he clearly thought he would at the start of the fight by only looking for the single shot), his punch precision improved.
Froch is not the second coming of Roy Jones but I still think the beats Magee easily.

It would be easier to give him a bit of leeway if he wasnt so arrogant and ran his mouth every time a camera is in his face. Magee is going to outpoint him if froch doesnt start listening to his corner and bring his left hand up now and again.Loftgroov wrote:I think Froch will beat Magee easily enough.

Lets be fair now westerman was brave but a guy like that shouldnt be able to take the first four rounds off froch if he is even half as good as he claims. 20 fights in 10 years or something for the challenger with 5 defeats froch might do well to have a look at this fight again and realise how bad he really was.
Froch looked totally disinterested and if Westerman had more power than I think he would have paid the price. If he actually knuckled down I think he could make a very good boxer but something drastic is gonna have to happen first though to make him realise he isn't sugar ray leonard. there are a lot of similarities between froch and eubank in my opinion in attitude and I can't warm to him
a lot of super middles out there would beat Froch but I don't think Magee is one of them. i'll be cheering him on though,

I certainly don't need to re-evaluate Froch-Magee just becuase Froch didn't look a million dollars in his last fight.
This might be worth evaluating though.
In Magee's warm-up fight he took on a SEVEN fight pro novice who barely had a recognisable name on his record, let alone a recognisable win.
Froch's wam-up consisted of his 5th Commonwealth title defence against a 15-5 opponent with some fair names and wins on his CV.
I wonder which boxer is going to look better???
Froch beats Magee by stoppage or if Brian can grab on tight enough, hang on to lose a stinker on points.

lol....Froch makes excuses about his style every fight and always says he'll be better and shit and more motivated when he steps ups it up. Almost every long fight he's had without fail he taken some very big shots, and if not for him having a decent chin he would have got knocked out.
You guys grossly underestimate Magee. Remember he should be Euro champ but got screwed by the judges after outboxing Tsypko. He would have beaten Reid if not for him getting knocked down a few times and a dubious point deduction. Lets not forget a few of those knockdowns where bad calls by the ref.
Magee is an slick accurate puncher, with imo some underrated power. He only fucks up when he fears his opponent and starts punching and grabbing. If he's confident for this fight and sticks to his boxing skills he will box Frochs head off. Froch has looked horrible lately...

Hold on a second, you barely get your post started before you label Froch an "excuses" man, then the rest of your post excuses Magee for all of his failings of which there are plenty.
With this thinking if Martin Cavey had superb stamina, world class skills, a high level of discipline, knock out power in both hands and a rock solid chin he would be a world champion.
Froch's tools are being taken away from him, and Magee's short comings are being excused. Very convenient.
