How can anyone dare question AJ's power when he stopped the unstoppable Kevin Johnson?

He's not terrible. He's a good fighter and a top prospect. They've moved him on a bit too quickly though. The way he constantly pulls his right hand back after throwing is blatant and wide open to a slip and left hook. Someone like Haye would exploit this. He makes a lot of mistakes but that is the most glaring.

I'd still give him a fair shout against Haye now.

The only time Haye faced a man that size who was a puncher he ran like a thief the whole fight.

The division is pretty shallow talent wise so I'd give him a shout against anyone. He's quite quick and punches very hard. It's difficult to write him off against anyone. I still think Haye would give him fits though.

Joshua has had 2 fights in quick succession and Hearn said he was constantly drugs tested.
AJ said he now needs to have a break to "recharge" his batteries. I'm sure he will return even stronger.

Or maybe you just think along the lines of the classic armchair fan 'Well, huh, but he wasn't...unconscious' Which is a ridiculous way to think about power as most refs will stop it before getting to that stage, particularly if a fighter has been decked already.

He is pretty terrible. Its just that his athletic attributes are so good he d be dangerous to anyone for me.

Looks like they ve concentrated more on it than his boxing tbh. Dont think i ve seen one of his training videos yet with any boxing come to think of it.

British boxing rife atm with it. Very few technically great fighters but very very fit strong etc. Hard to knock as its bringing about decent success. Be interesting to see how it ends for him. Genuinely think hayes on another level technically to him but will it be enough to overcome joshuas size length etc.

Same with fury. Technically much better in terms of movement. But will it be enough to beat joshuas power.

I still say that no one can really say with any kind of certainty at this stage. Hopefully we find out soon enough tho.

HAHA you make yourself look stupid and you make ME look good at making YOU look stupid.

If you look at our posts there is NO mention of either Ortiz or the word cruiserweight. We were never talking about that AT ALL.

We were talking about who had a CHANCE against Joshua and I mentioned the names Povetkin, Klitschko and Fury then you said they got as much chance as Breazeale lol (you defintely need to know that those fighters I mentioned ARE ranked above Breazeale) and NOW you reply with Luis Ortiz?? Are you ok in the head?

Joshua obviously isn't terrible.

Even if his boxing skills don't evolve much further, his athletic gifts will get him a long way, in a division that seems to be full of indifferent trainers with even worse technique.

My guess is, that he will probably go on to become the top dog in a very weak division, he doesn't appear to be chinny, and he has a high workrate and serious firepower, those two attributes along are enough to get him very very far in today's heavyweight scene.

I think Ortiz will get old and be gone before he has a chance to be a major factor. I don't see Ortiz getting his title shot any time soon, and he's 38 next birthday.

No way Eddie is going to take on Ortiz at this stage of Joshua's career. I'd make Ortiz favourite based on what I've seen of him. Better all around skills, and serious firepower too.

Yeah. It's a real shame to be honest. Ortiz is gonna be a wasted talent.

Kid, I never spoke about Povetkin, Klitschko or Fury, it's you popping up random stuff and then act like I didn't know that.
Why do you think I wrote 2²=4? I hoped the message was clear by then, but appearantly it's not.
You come up with random facts while quoting me. So I thought, let's do the same to you, let's once act just as dumb as you do all the time.
And what do you do? You say "HAHA you make yourself looking stupit", what on earth is going on in your head? Are you an alcoholaddict or something?

Let's scroll back, just to help you.

I wrote "If you really think that, call me one heavyweight in the entire history who's supposed to have a chance against him. I can't name any.", this ofcourse was a reaction to TheLeprechaun who said Joshua is a one dimensional, robotic fighter that reminded him of "Kelly Pavlik".

Your reaction on that was that "nobody is ducking Joshua" ???? Now what on earth does that have anything to do with my comment?

So I said "2²=4" assuming you would then understand that your comment had absolutely nothing to do with my comment, like 2²=4 has nothing to do with your comment. BUT NO... Your new reaction was that everybody who fights Joshua has a chance.

So I said, that's like stating Breazeale has a chance, in other words, that's the same as the chance as 10 supermodels ringing on my doorbell in 5 minits begging me to go to bed with them.

Then you all of a sudden say "Povetkin, Klitschko and Fury can beat Joshua is like saying Breazeale had a chance??..learn boxing.", like I'm the one who doesn't know boxing, and like I ever said anything like that.

So then I was like, oké, this guy is creating even more bullshit around me that have absolutely nothing to do with my comments. Let's act the same way he does and write up a random fact, and then act like any of his comments has anything to do with the things I say, perhaps he will finally realise he's acting a bit odd.

So what does he do? Acting like I'm the one who's making myself look stupit lol, joke of the century! You're telling me we didn't spoke about Ortiz? Like I have spoken about Povetkin or whatever lol. On top of that, you state that I compared Povetkin/Klitschko/Fury with Breazeale?! WTF are you talking about? I never named any of them before you stated so. Hold on, my doorbell is ringing.

TheLeprechaun wrote:I am always surprised when I watch him because I just don't get what everyone else sees. He appears to be so basic and rudimentary. Extremely one dimensional. He looks very robotic, even just the way he walks looks very robotic. He's the type of fighting style that i'd expect to get thoroughly outboxed by a "slick" fighter.

I think he gets by on having world class power and his size, which gives him a shot against any heavyweight because it will only take one punch.

He really looks poor to me but the entire division is quite bad at the moment.

He reminds me of Kelly Pavlik. Limited but good enough to rule his division for a period of time. Lost every round vs a slick mover in Hopkins though.
He is a very basic limited fighter and even a 35-36 year year old David Haye will crush him and prove it.

At least he debulked a little this time out. But in a pathetically untalented HW division either full of eastern European robots or big fat slob fighters like Whyte, chisora , arreola and Stiverne to mention a few....Joshua and other guys who are superior athletically like wilder will clean up in due course just like wladimir did in recent times

Tyson fury and david haye have more talent and boxing ability than the rest of the division.

There are smaller talented guys like Cunningham and Bryant Jennings but they are just too small and have been beaten by bigger guys

Its amazing in retrospect to think back in the late 80s George foreman and tim witherspoon were considered out of shape.....next to the whytes and chisoras of this world they look like Dorian Yates.

EVen young George foreman some fools considered him lacking talent, just being pure power and brute strength. Yet there is no heavyweight fighter competing today who had his clever footwork and pivots (see frazier 1 for an example)

Yeah I agree. I thought Joshua lost the final as well, although that was definitely a close fight which could have gone either way. But Savon beat him comfortably imo.
Savon has been robbed on numerous occasions over the last few years.
He's one of my favourite amateur fighters.
I'd love to see him take Gold in Rio.

Savon would be undisputed champ if he turned pro by now. Although there is always the danger of him putting on 50 pounds like some other Cubans once they get a taste of Western life.

Why exactly do Cuba ban fighters from turning pro but allow them to travel the world and fight amateur? They seem to be the only country that does this? It's not like they are anti-boxing since they are actively engaging in amateur boxing.

Is it religious or something? Makes no sense.
