Who knows, we may find out all athletes will have suspensions lifted if it is determined they took the drug before it was on the banned list. Actually this wouldn't surprise me since there seems to be more research needed on Meldonium withdrawal time frames.
I've heard it's short term but haven't done a ton of research. That would explain why he passed two tests before he got popped. If it's long term, oh well, sucks for everyone involved. He has ZERO case against Wilder.
If/when WBC clears Povetkin and reordetrs Wilder to defend against him, Ryabinsky will have a really good case.
No he won't. He will still have a positive test for a banned substance, one he readily admits he took. Defamation would be something completely out of the blue, which happens all the time BTW, and is very hard to get a favorable ruling on. It's as frivolous as fat people trying to sue oreo. Ryabinsky is going to write Wilder a check, all these posturing is trying to keep it less than 5 or 6 million in a settlement.

It can give you a headache and skinproblems. Now I admit Povetkin got cut open by Wach in his last fight and it's possible that's because of
meldonium, but when 2016 started and Wada/Vada didn't allow meldonium any more he didn't take it.
Next to that, most articles around it only say it makes your blood flow better, but so does alcohol (and alcohol can also give you a headache), this doesn't mean you will become the ultimate boxer if you're just drinking enough alcohol.
why are so Many Russian Athletes using it ? If it gives no benefit it would be totally illogical to take it . I read a report that it supplies more oxygen to the tissues. If Povetkin was taking it and he felt it Gave no benefit he should have discontinued immediately in October 2015. According to the test he took it after fair warning was given to all Athletes
YOU'RE FULL OF CRAP!!!! ... You have NO basis for saying Povetkin took Meldonium after it was announced it was going on the banned list. He tested at 70 nanograms -- and having 14 X as much in his system would still have allowed him to compete under the guidelines of any concentration under 1 microgram being good to go for all competitors. Maria Sharapova tested over that and that's the only reason she was suspended.
Only in Todays world can a guy who admitted to taking Ped's be classified as a Victim smh.

If Povetkin took it before September of 2015, then it was not a PED, but over the counter medication.

Its a PED now. He was tested this year and if he was to "ADMIT" to it, then it would have to been this year where its a??? PED. LOL.

Also you mentioned over the counter medication which is the case in Russia for those with cardiac problems. Povetkin is a healthy individual who has no cardiac problems. He never took Meldonium for medicinal purposes.

Stop dealing with these trolls. If you admit you're guilty in any court, you're guilty. If BS gets you a reprieve the person you wronged can't be sued. I mean if I beat the dogshit out of kalan and it turned out with video evidence that he attempted to assault me with his limp wristed attack; it would be thrown out of court with the simplicity that a mancunt approached a real man.

You fuking IDIOT!!!! He had Meldonium in his system from 2015 when it was perfectly legal to take it and it was NOT a PED... ALL the testing agencies knew about Meldonium for 30 years... Meldonium was "GOOD TO GO" for 30 years until some political jackass managed to get it added to the banned list THIS YEAR because it's manufactured in Latvia.. It takes several months to clear the body of every last nanogaram (a billionth of an ounce) so WADA issued an allowable concentration of ANYTHING under 1 microgram... That's 1000 nanograms... Povetkin had 1/15th of that.

foxdog you're so stupid I just can't believe it.

BTW... 70 nanograms is not going to have any medical effect on your body... anymore than an aspirin or cold pill that you took last years... That's why WADA issued guidelines that any athlete with less than 1 microgram in his or her tests be allowed to compete.

So, if it was really 70ng level - we had nothing to argue about. And WBC had nothing to investigate.

But they DO investigate, so it's more than 70ng :shame:

And once again - ANY SOURCE FOR 70Ng, outside Riabinski????????? :brick:

Stay with what were debating here not your new found facts. We are not discussing dosage so dont stray like you do when your about to be proven wrong.

If he was to ADMIT to taking Meldonium it would have to been this year cos then you can say he ADMITTED to it.

If he said it last year before the test (which he didnt cos if he did, the media wouldve MENTIONED that important part) then its more 'Povetkin MENTIONED that hes taken Meldonium'.

Anyway dont try to sweep under the carpet your stupidity ONCE AGAIN for ALL to see. I just LOVE catching you out.

You said 'who admitted to taking PEDs?' and Povetkin who has tested positive this year for traces of Meldonium in his system should not admit to taking the PED Meldonium? LOL.

I know youre going to comeback with it wasnt a PED last year (which it wasnt as Ive mentioned before) and that would probably be Povetkins excuse as well but Povetkin who does not suffer from cardiac problems and made NO MENTION of him taking Meldonium before the tests DESPITE WADA making him aware that it was to be banned this year did have small traces of it in his system.

Logic would have to tell you that if the level was over 1 that there wouldn't be an investigation, he would be banned, no point in ryabinsky lieing about the levels especially when it's going to court, he doesn't want to be seen as being underhanded, everything points towards what has been said by ryabinsky being right

I agree there is no piont for Ryabinsky to lie about the levels of Meldonium, but he already lied once in this case when he said traces of Meldonium were found in Povetkin's blood, while in reality they were found in urina sample.

Thats neither here nor there how the result was obtained, I'm sure if it came up in a urine test they would have drawn blood to clarify the results
