If Sheika hurts him then If he thinks he can walk through Joes then he's in for some trouble!
Slaps or not ask the 31 guys he's put out!
Yeah but Omar Sheika troubling him yet Calzaghe easily cut Sheika up in 5 is so funny. Plus is Lacy's so ready why couldn't he stop him easy like with Reid.jamesmcdonnell wrote:Number 1
Sheika is a huge puncher, punch for punch, he hits way harder than Joe. However, he lacks finesse and doesn't have great speed.
Lacy shows good recovery there, he takes the shot right on the temple, but recovers pretty much instantaneously.
Ask yourself this. Does Lacy hit harder than Kabary Salem? I would say the answer is, most certainly.
You can say Lacy was rocked by Sheika, but he stayed on his feet and got on with the job at hand.
Maybe Lacy isn't ready, but I wouldn't base that decision on whether or not Sheika was able to rock him. Sheika can rock anyone he can hit, what is more of a worry is that Sheika was able to land so oftenh in their fight, something Vanderpool was also doing.
I cannot make my mind up who will win this fight, I really can't. Joe has the form to do the job, but I suspect that injury will play a part. As Mighty Warrior stated, if Joe lands a shot like that on Lacy's big noggin, it will probably crumble like an egyptian mummies.
Fighting Lacy one handed would be no joke, as he will just keep on coming for the whole 12 rounds.
Yeah and Mitchell got stopped in 2 and Kabary was just a fluke. Mitchell was better than Sheika. If i had made a thread like this with calzaghe being sparked things would be different
Yeah but with Lacy the scores were close! If i had made a thread like this with calzaghe being sparked things would be different
The division looks to have a good future with good prospects like Chad Dawson and Allan Green climbing the rankings. Lacy v Calzaghe will increase the market value of Super Middleweights because I expect it to be an exciting and brutal battle.Cannibal wrote:I think Lacy is a product of a weak division. Apart from Calzaghe who has been pretty inactive lately and Kessler there is not much else.
Anyone could improve against the guys Lacy's fought! Sheika and Vanderpool were hitting Lacy quite a alot before he stopped Vanderpool anyway.viciousmaussa wrote:Lacy seems to have improved from the Sheika fight. He's certainly been fearsome from the Rubin Williams fight onward & his momentum is hard to deny for anyone right now. Lacy has peaked and it's all coming together. I don't know if Calzaghe's brittle hands, helped in no part by his cuffing style of attacking, will keep Lacy off.
Sheika seemed to trouble Lacy with a good jab, solid basics and standing his ground. He made him look ordinary. Makes me wonder what Kessler could do, against the impriving Lacy. I've been following MK's fights for a while, and his jab and combinations are excellent. If he could keep Lacy on the end of that jarring jab, and back him up late, he could bash JL up. Lacy only seems effective with the opponent on the ropes.
Jeff seems to have a junior middle or middle frame with big super middleweight muscles. If he got backed up he'd look tiny. I saw him struggle to win on pts vs a guy Fernando Vargas stopped once.
My guess is Lacy is too sharp & forceful for Calzaghe right now, and Lacy will hang around at s/m for a fight with Jermain Taylor. But along the way i reckon he'll fight Kessler, and it'll be the Dane who make shim look average again. if he ever loses his confidence/peak fitness he'll never be the same.
He may of been down but he won easy when Lacy won a close fight with Sheika.Calzaghe question
How can Calzaghe be decked by Salem and be ready for Lacy?....
Jesus give it a rest, I hope Calzaghe wins for your sake!Max Molyneux wrote:Anyone could improve against the guys Lacy's fought! He gets hit quite easy till he smacks them one with his right.

Plus Calzaghe's been around for ages to say he's been ready and has alot more experiance than Lacy.
Lacy could still be a 20 fight novice whos best fights have been against guys Joe already beat.
